lol, the guy spent $12,000 on a motor that yeilded lets say 40lb/ft over stock. Wow. How many people here spent $5000 and yeilded 150lb/ft. ******* idiots.

don't forget that you also need a bigger oil pump because for some reason oil pumps are HP sensitive, not rpm.

hahah, i remember that argument... it's amazing how many people in m.net just don't get it. I can understand if someone is ignorant, but maintaining the same point of view (which was based purely on ignorance to begin with) after being proven wrong in a number of ways is stupidity.

whoa, there's a blue miata/white hardtop racecar with "fuji racing" all over it, and ITB's. I wonder if this is the 175whp daily driver they speak of.

lol, speak of the devil.

on a side note, there are like 30 turbo miatas out here too. I feel like a total bitch.

So the 175whp car is gutted big time, like...less **** in the car and under weight in terms of spec miata. The guy was only cutting 1:32's at best, spec cars are running 1:31's. Too many variables to consider, but I wasn't all that impressed. Cool guy though. I still severly doubt 175whp on a 9.0:1 NA1.8 bottom end with a 99 head.

I wasn't totally rude. He claimed the dyno was not doctored, and that he didn't know why the 5252 cross didn't happen, and claimed he wasn't a good driver.

BTW, the car is nowhere remotely close to street able. It takes an act of congress to move the car from a stop, and pukes and farts below 4k rpm. Its like drag-race rotary motors...every one I've ever seen has "barely" run. He was a super nice guy, and still had a lot to do on the car, but he needs to find another dyno shop if he plans on selling any parts. It ran with the 200hp supercharged cars with full interior, and had mph speeds consistent with mp45 cars.

It sounds to me like the guy works very hard, and engineers many of his own parts which is good, but I hope he doesn't **** up his company's future with a shitty dyno shop that hosed him...if that's how the story actually reads.

his 175whp gutted car was turning lap times 2 seconds faster than 120whp full-interior cars.

I dont care what times he got, i dont care what he got in the 1/8 1/4 1/2 1/1....if he doesnt put that thing back on a dyno and upload the actual results of that session (not something the session beforehand) I'm not going to believe a word he says...about anything.
