Does the car have a factory warranty? I do suggest you look it up-- ringlands problem happens with all black everything. i mean all stock everything.

fae-tuning and stupidity shatters ringlands.

proper tuning and a short but effective mod list produces 400whp in a daily that looks stock

My tunes had absolutely nothing to do with my subie motor death.

free flowing exhaust
Possibly header/ewg if you're into that stuff
3port

Basically

Or leave it stock and enjoy a nice reliable car. Having a modded DD is annoying.

Or have a modded and extremely fun while completely reliable DD.

Yes. But its very rare, you only hear alot about it because everyone that it happens to complains about it. Though, IMO a good "stage 1" tune is safer than stock because of the stupid CL/OL delay.

And I wont do a turbo swap, the VF52 is a pretty sweet daily driver turbo that can hit 300whp.

I heard you, just chose to ignore. Not going to be your car, so your opinion means little.

Notice how I didn't start a thread: "I have a budget to buy a car, I dunno what to get, please all you gays a mt.net tell me what to buy"

I had been debating the WRX, MS3, V70r, and A4/S4 wagon for a while now. The WRX won out and now I get to own one this week. It's in pretty good shape, the color I wanted, only 40K miles, and the guy kept it relatively in good shape. The body is in good shape, a few scratches here and there, a bunch on the door handle cups I think I can buff out, but other than that theres no rust, it's stock and will be a fun versatile DD. I dont have to worry much about snow anymore, I can finally pass minivans on the highway, and I wont have to borrow my in-laws minivan as much when I need to transport small objects. I might be able to throw away my spool of twine now...I'm tired of having to tie my trunk-lid shut when objects are too large to fit in any of my other cars.

Wagon > Miata.

I'd trade my Miata for a decent wagon in a heartbeat.

How much did you pay for it?

Note that a "stage 2" WRX with downpipe and exhaust and tune is faster than your miata. I was neck and neck with stage 2 WRXs back when I was at 10ish psi, gt3071 and 255hp on the York dyno.

That is $1000 of mods. Add a wideband and boost gauge and you are at $1250. Add a $100 tactrix and you can tune it yourself.

The way you do fuel with the "open source" tuning is a little unintuitive but it works. No megasquirt but the knock detection is legit, timing table and trims are ez, and logging is ******* awesome. Runs at something like 40hz yay.

I'm not modding it. And probably slower than miata at a roll
