A chain is only as strong as...

If I recall correctly, you need two jackstands and some lumber to prop the tail end up in the air, a screwdriver to disconnect the clamp on the fuel line and the throttle cable, a piece of bailing wire to tie the wiring harness up to the decklid hinge, one 13mm (or was it 15mm?) open-end wrench to pull the four bolts holding the engine to the transmission, and a floor jack with a piece of 1x6 on the saddle to lower the engine out. Two men, one hour.
Don't even bother with unbolting the tranny. Just put the jack between the tranny and the engine, and drop it all. I could remove the engine and transmission in my 914 in about 30 minutes. Which was good, because you practically had to do that every time you needed to work on it.

I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that built engines with larger turbos and aftermarket EMS spinning 1500 RPM past the factory redline are not covered under any manufacturer warranty..

There you can see the ring gear is still in place but theres no friction material left on the flywheel.
Either way, hes VERY VERY lucky they're fixing all of that. Race parts hardly EVER have any kind of warranty.. Looks like some serious serious damages.

Yeah there was no warranty, but if you were DCR would you want these pictures out on the net, associated with your product, and the poster saying you told him to go play in traffic?
