The Dedicated URABUS Thread

I'll have to sit in a few and make a call. The white section of the two tone seats apparently gets real dirty when they're cloth. The leather ones usually come with heated seats. Such upgrade from '91 miata.
Thanks for the input, I was hoping you'd share your experience since you've seen a few subie motors. Is there a lack of torque down low on the 2.0t because lag?
I know them feels!

IME, no. Its the shitty factory tune. I drove 5~6 EJ205 WRXs before I bought mine, and mine feels WAY better than any other 2.0 I drove, but then mine was tooned by 18. Plenty torquey for a silly wagon DD IMO.

the trick we normally use for getting the front axles out is unbolting the lca's from hub to free them up and pull axles out on the inside, leaving them bolted down to hubs and leaving all alighment stuff untouched.
but we use a lift. and we use a forklift to lower the trans, instead of a gay trans lift.

I'll be working with y8s so expect a 10hr ordeal.
I have the T70 drain plug bit.
as far as the axles, is this the same process:
1:50-2:30
seems like he pulled off way more than he really needed.

I pulled the front wheels, marked and then removed the 2 bolts that connect the strut to the upright, then leaned the uprights out as far as I could, pushed the axle into the transmission (to compress the cv joints) enough to get the spline out of the hub. Then pop the axle out of the trans and remove.
Wheel + 2 bolts for me, but it was tight, but I didn't want to mess with the ball joint at the bottom, but it's 1 bolt if needed on mine to remove the bottom part of the ball joint from the LCA.
Now gotta go put mine back in actually...

Wow, the tune is that bad? Good to know it can be doctored and you enjoy le 205.

as for the reliability question: I think 90% of the "failures" mentioned on forums are from idiot owners abusing their cars, not maintaining them, and then when they break, they cry about it and say they treated the car in the best way imaginable, period. Never raced, never abused, never neglected. Then you look on YT at all the idiots mudding them like 4x4's, racing them, molesting them in the most insane ways possible, and you start to wonder......
Too busy at work right now to type up my essay on this topic LOL

this is exactly why I like guides :P
how are you getting away with not pulling the axles? just popping them out enough that they aren't interfering?

Ugh. Pulling the tranny sounds irritating as ****, especially if I have to unbolt the struts because on an Sti that means I get to do an alignment too. I'm pulling the engine when I do a clutch lol.

dropping the trans actually looks very easy--Just have to go through the effort of the axles.
the access to the trans itself is better than any car i've ever seen.
I wouldn't want to pull a motor to do a clutch job unless i had other reasons, and i dont have those reasons. plus my garage clearance is low and i dont think i can pull a motor in there anyway.
