The Dedicated URABUS Thread

I cannot put into words how much I hate when retards post in PPB on Nabisco with threads like that one.
"PROVEN POWER BRAGGING"?
Oh yeah, totally looks like the right section to ask which stage 2 mods I should run. HERP DERP
I almost posted too, but then looked at how progressively the thread was going full retard, and just didn't see the point

Oh this was in the 2.5EJ section and not PPB. It hadnt even gotten retarded yet, but it was a pretty dumb question. I was like like ahh, idk an sti turbo or 16g, a downpipe and a tune will do that, anything else is just nicer to have and probably a good idea, like a better than wrx intercooler. Everyone else ended up with like 10 part lists that included intakes and tvg deletes and I was confused.

oh yeah, 3 port was on the list everyone had. And I'm just like, I've had this mac valve and the correct connector sitting here since I bought the car and the stock ebcs can run allofit from a td04 no problem. I actually had to back off the wgdc up top because like opening the gate more made more power. And everyone else be like wat?

I'm completely happy with 200~ish in the 04, but I'd love to have a solid 250 Maybe when the Miata is "done" I'll look into something like a 16g and a downpipe, but until then, the Subaru does not get touched unless its a maintenance item.

While I would typically agree, some washers between the mufflers and exhaust pipe would be ghetto and sound like ****, my brother did just that on his LGT and it sounds very very good. Like holy ****...no joke.

lol its also common for the 08+ wrx/sti cars too.
G you're really only a downpipe and a tune away from like 240ish wheel with the td04. The 310ftlbs that goes along with that is where its really at though. I did do the tgv deletes on my car because I had to pull the intake manifold off to delete the stupid ******* air valves and figured I might as well. IDK why everyone thinks they like make cold start be rough and ****, all I changed in the tune was the shut the codes off and there was no discernible change.

Same here when I did my TGV delete due to a bad sensor...no difference in winter cold start. No change to tune except ignore TGV codes.
I think I noticed a difference in power but that could be wishful thinking.

Older cars used tgv's for warmup only, and yeah it didn't really affect cold start anyway.
Newer cars close them while cruising and idling even when warm, so I'm kinda hesitant to do it on my '13. I mean when the factory goes to the trouble of making like 5-10 extra tables in the tune for all sorts of various TGV and TGV related operations and compensations, it's not so easy to call them useless. I think the closed while cruising approach was done for the em pee geez though.
As for gains, the closes apples to apples comparison I have is two 20g EJ255 setups, one with equal length header, silicone turbo inlet, and tgv deletes, and the other with all 3 of those stock, and the amount of flow increase was very significant from those 3 things. Required a butt load more fuel up top.
If anyone has some legitimate information on this topic that's not just some bro'z regurgitating what their fellow broz think or say, I'd love to hear/see it. I've yet to see any extensive research or testing posted on the topic.

Yes, but downpipe will also probably cause me to install exhaust, and then it quickly becomes a slippery slope. Plus I don't think I want to push my little TD04 that hard right now.

I'll ask for hardware recommendations in 2016, I refuse to look into it before then. Miata needs love first.
