I really like LGT/OBXT's
2 reasons I didn't get one: 1) they seem to have the most issues, and failure prone parts (at least the 05-06 years anyway) 2) the wagons are significantly heavier than your fxt/wrx But yeah I you need space, or for it to moonlight as a truck, it's totally great at that. They're also quite a bit more "grown up" looking. And way less of them riced out. |
anyone need a tatrix cable?
|
yes :)
I could use another spare |

I like the outback because it's easier to find in a manual wagon configuration than the LGT, but more generally because it's a little "nicer" than the impreza platform (which makes it heavier I guess), and because it's practically invisible. Everybody and their lesbian aunts has an outback so nobody notices a white and gray outback with a hoodscoop as being anything different, but I can still pass your lesbian aunts on an uphill with a trunk full of ski gear. While getting 18mpg.

Anyone want to buy my 05 OBXT? MaKe OfFeR

Oh tasty.
Drift-Office : Edelbrock E-Force Supercharged! - Scion FR-S Forum | Subaru BRZ Forum | Toyota 86 GT 86 Forum | AS1 Forum - FT86CLUB Header + tune + Edelbrock on the BRZ = 285whp, he's guessing 330whp on E85. And that's with the stock pulley. |
that's how it should have been from the factory.
that or a v6. |
Yeah, that much power in that thing would be a riot. But I'm not about to drop $~7k on the kit/header/etc. The clutch is on borrowed time at that point.
|
kinda surprised the difference between twin screw and centri is 20tq in midrange
That engine just really doesn't like lowend torque and refuses to make it |
how big is that blower? I'd like to see a run starting at even as low as 1.5K. but yeah, looks like that thing needs some rpm to build up boost.

I'm kinda liking the AVO turbo kit for those things.
But the sc's are really tempting due to how easy the install is on most of them but if the difference between twin screw and centri is that small, I'd probably take a centri for the lower weight and complexity and higher efficiency/potential |
Thing with the Edelbrock kit is apparently with the smaller pulleys it's capable of nearly 500hp at the crank.
Of course you'd need a lot of other stuff to go with it. |

I'd rather have the screw.
On the same dyno it makes a lot better tq, and has much more potential for gain. All performance mods are going to benefit the roots over the centi. The low-end of teh kratwerks SUCKS. Plus the install looks OE, the kratwerks looks kinda, just, stuffed in there. https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1446478569 what's the difference in cost? Looking at AVO dynos, I'd still rather have the Roots. Unless it's a lot more capable of running more boost than the 200rwhp dynos I'm finding. |

I "fixed" it. |
Yeah the turbo kit just blows the sc's out of the water past the 6psi base 200whp kit.
Cost is pretty close for the starter kits actually. As for supporting mods, I think the turbo setup definitely wins there, at least in terms of how much additional stuff you need to make more power, you just get a 3" exhaust and turn up the boost, vs getting a header, higher flowing intakes, smaller pulleys, exhaust, etc. |
yeah, I saw a few dynos with the boost turned up. much better mid-range TQ.
really it's a matter of preference, with the rotrex (like always) being the bottom bitch. |
:giggle:
I'm really tempted to pick one up after the rex. small/nimble - check fixed roof - check (I hate convertibles, I know I know) good mileage - check OEM ecu tunability - check tons of aftermarket support - check 4 seater - check sexy - check it's ticking all the right boxes except the low end grunt box. I think I can live with that |
4 seater is a stretch, at only 5'8" no one can sit in the seat behind me.
