Gauntlet thrown: Corvette ZR1 bitch S-laps the GTR 'Ring in 7:26.4

No kiddin', I'd take a blue R34 myself...
But honestly, dollar for dollar, as far as street cars go, NOTHING will ever match the overall performance of a corvette. Nothing. I mean, a car your grandma could drive every day, and step on the loud pedal at any time, accelerate up to triple digit speeds in seconds, hang around on the loop-de-loop highway exit ramp, then speed off into the hilly countryside, all with the A/C running.
Other cars can do all those things, but not nearly as well, as comfortably, and for the price.

I'm no big US muscle fanboy, but I'd take the ZR1 over a R35 skyline in a heartbeat.
The new skyline is going the path of all of the other new crap cars, it's getting heavier, bigger, and more complicated, while the ZR1 is at least trying to be light.
Plus the new Skyline looks like *** most of the time.

GT-R time was 1:29 on dead standard suspension and Jap spec run flat tyres.

ZR1 is over US$30,000 more than a GT-R.

Seems like the 7:40 test results would have been pointless if this were true.
It did do a 7:29 in April 2008 though
