Petition created by someone who moved to Portland last year

https://www.change.org/p/charlie-hal...s-sound-limits

Counter petition created 12 hours later.

https://www.change.org/p/charlie-hal...s-with-the-pir

Pretty obvious which one has more support

Make it respect "proposed" sound ordinances? Aside from the part where he moved next to it.

Like people that move into an approach path for an airport then complain they can here the airplanes.

Pretty much. It happens all the time. As far as I know PIR is the only city park that actually makes a profit. So nothing has happened yet.

Anyone dealing with a parent that has early stage Alzheimers (dementia) ? My dad is getting questionable and being stubborn about seeing a doctor. My mom won't put her foot down and tries to protect him.

I have already had a talk with him. My dad has been a car guy his whole life. I blame him for all the money i have burned on this hobby.

Steve, I'm also dealing with this currently. Thankfully my dad has been willing to see doctors. However, he's getting to be fairly far along, to the point where he's starting to get lost here and there, and his moodiness is increasing pretty dramatically.

No fun, not one bit. My dad is 58.

My dad is never moody with me around. Usually he is quiet. My mom tells me he gets extremely frustrated with tasks and throws ****. He turned 74 this year.

The latest task was hooking up a jumper pack to their miata. He nearly hooked it up backwards before my mom stopped him. Here is a man who has done engine swaps, supercharged an old beetle, and various other performance oriented tasks on old vehicles. (Without the help of google) Now he cant connect jumper cables correctly. Very sad.

Ah yeah, pretty big age gap there. Yes, my dad stays quiet in social situations (including with me around/other family members). I don't live near them, so when I do see them, my dad does get very excited and pretty much keeps talking, but it's like listening to a CD on repeat.

Sorry to hear that about your dad and the jumpers. That's really rough.

Day 2 of getting to work before 7. In that awkward state of my body still thinks it should go to bed late. But I wake up before 6. In a few days it will even out, but its almost like jetlag at this point.

After a few weeks your body will adjust. I have been on the 7-3:30 schedule for the last several years. Most days I am up at 5:30am and in bed between 9:30-10pm. Getting home before rush hour traffic and having a good bit of the afternoon with light it a godsend to get work done. Should free up plenty of time to build GPS units.

Yep. Did it every spring in college when we switched to morning practices (rowing).

College was worse though. Because I would be getting hammered until 2am. Then waking up at 4:30 for practice.

I'm on... 1 or 2 hours of sleep atm... Caffeine pills & ibuprofen are thy savior.

Previous 2 nights I was going to sleep at 9:30 & waking up 5:30, actually getting out of bed at 6. Leave for work 6:30. Get to work by 7ish depending on traffic. Leave at 4, repeat.

Spent last night with a nurse lady friend who got off work late, originally I said to myself. Just having... A FEW DRINKS.. insert spongebob 'several hours later'. WELCOME TO THE JUNGLE, WE GOT FUN AND GAMES & iHop breakfast sampler muchies. She wants to go out again tonight, weeeellll see if I'm awake.

That just gave me a powerful desire to watch many episodes of Spongebob Squarepants.

Sounds like you got her right where you want her - you are allowed to say "no" - the weekend is coming, and if you get some rest tonight, you'll have a good day at work tomorrow, and she'll put in some effort for a killer Friday night. If you do invite her over tonight, set a 'bedtime" half an hour before you think you need to go to bed.
