They make windshield washer fluid that has Rain-X in it. It's the best. Never apply Rain-X again.

Man, that Rain-X wiper stuff is ****. It's more expensive, doesn't do anything to clean bugs and smears everywhere.

Bah ha ha. Negative. Rain-X washer fluid does nothing like the manually applied Rain-X. You fail.

Neither... probably because my car has no windshield wipers, which is why I use the manually applied stuff. But that's not the point. I used to use that Rain-X washer stuff religiously in my Envoy until I realized that using the manual stuff along with the normal washer fluid works 19087198076198701668130316849846 times better. By itself without a prior application of Rain-X from a bottle... that washer crap is just garbage.
