Also, just something I noticed today. At least 4 kids at my school have >$75,000 dollar cars. Probably 1/4 have > $50,000 cars. More than half have > $20,000 cars. One of the sophomores there (Highschool sophomore, for gods sake) drives a new BMW 750li.

And at the other end of the parking lot, my Miata is both faster than all of them, and pissing oil all over the ground.

I hated the SAT.
Being stuck in a room for 5 hours taking a test.
I think the night before I found out my gf was cheating on me or some **** like that.
Still got a 1340 (1880 with writing section)

 

I took a practice psat and got like 200 without having slept the night before, I'm not worried. On another note, my (Now ex, after a year and a half ) girlfriend has been studying at least 20 hours a week, every week, for the past two years to get in the National Merit Scholarship thingey. You need to get in the top 1 percentile... I think it's like a 230 or something... I haven't the heart to tell her that she's never going to do it.

Can you imagine preparing for two years for a test that you only get one shot at? I don't mean to talk her down, but she's just not that smart. She's WAY ahead of everyone in school (All her classes are college courses in 11th grade) but she's just not that smart. She just memorizes everything. Her life IS school. Can you imagine spending your entire junior and high school career preparing for a future that rests on one test that you don't have much of a chance of getting your desired result on?

I can't imagine living like that.

On another note though, I hope they'll let me dip, that'll make it go 5,000x faster.

 

I know dumb people that study for hours to get better grades than me. God dammit. If I actually studied... I guess that makes them smarter than me either way because of that.

Funny, I don't so much mind it because I know that truely smart people will do better in life than those who just memorize **** in high school.
