I turned to him and said "For $150, you ill give you mine."

He turn and trotted (yes, trotted) to his car while saying something so fast and in very broken english I didnt understand him. He came back from his car with $150. I never took a part something that fast in my life.

Im working on that fix as well, no miatas in my area that are for sale that are worth it.

 

Junkyard tranny is your friend. You could probably pick up a transmission to swap in while you're there too.

 

I have thought about that as well, but the automatic to manual swap still scares the crap out of me.

 

If everything else about your car is good or at least decent I wouldn't hesitate to do it, can't be THAT hard can it? I'm sure there are plenty of people close by that'll give you a hand with it.

Damn it!!! Any time I try to save up to buy something, something else has to mess up and steal my money. My damn Samsung DLP lamp has **** itself, and that's $150ish. At least I assume it's the lamp. The TV will come on, work for about 15 seconds, then click off and go black, and I hear a buzz and it does it's little reboot thing and comes back after another 15 seconds, then repeats over and over. When it goes off the lamp light on the front blinks until it comes back on. I can't go without my TV!!!

I was going to buy a new camera lens with that money, but now TV optics have taken over.

After more research, other people with my TV had had similar problems and it ended up being ballast board and motherboard issues, both needing to be replaced. Blown capacitor or something... ****. I'm out of warranty, and that sounds like a ******* hassle.
