I love Picasa. The jazz 'stations' are fantastic and play incredible selections. There is an almost complete lack of 'Smooth Jazz' which I avoid, in much the same manner as I avoid mass production American lite beer.
Plus there a complete lack of Kenny G. I have not heard one Kenny G song. That is a plus. |

Hehe, love Pat Metheny. Classic.
Watching Australia with the wife right now. Pretty boring. Lots of wide open panoramic shots of grand vistas...and terrible characters and dull dialogue. |

:bowrofl: Holy fuck, could you actually choose a worse person or picture to give an example of a dress shirt...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dress_shirt Check the lowest picture on the page. Maybe it's just me that finds that comical. |

I know it might now seem like much, but that gas station I stop at for smokes did something really cool this morning. Se,, I always use them becuase they're the only ones who carry my smokes (Djarum Black Menthols). They know me enough that literally as soon as I walk in, they have a pak on the counter and rung up. So I grab a Jumex guava nector and some Pop-tarts and go to the counter...and find my pack waiting for me. I swipe my car and wait. The register beeps and he says to me "oh, it looks like the satellite link is down".....*looks around*....." just take your stuff and come back like tomorrow or whenever in the morning and remind me and pay for this later".
Pretty damn nice of them for a cutomer who has been a regular for like 3 years. |

I really like the McDonald's caramel frappe coffee drink, but I hate the fatty that works there. So fat and gross. So then I'm all grossed out and my drink doesn't taste good anymore.

For my 1,000th post, I will say this:
People who say shit like "I/she/he looks like she/he's on crack in that/this picture!!" should be forced to actually do the drug they're talking about, because they obviously have absolutely no idea what they're talking about. Drug ignorance is one of my major annoyances. |

Dammit.
Stopped to put gas in the Tacoma on the way home...and discover that I can't unlock the gas flap. Lock won't turn, and I don't want to snap my ignition key 2 miles from home. Drive home, nearly on empty. Try my wife's key that we had made right after I bought the truck a few months ago, still no luck. Sprayed the help out of the lock with that white graphite stuff, still nothing. I'm about 10 minutes away from crowbarring that sonovabitch open and replacing the lock mechanism with a bigass magnet to keep the door closed (improves fuel mileage and cures arthritis too). |
It's time once again for another look inside the state of light rail commuter transit. But first, a general observation:
St. Louis sucks. It's too damn hot and humid here. Ok, so I just flew in, and since I'm staying downtown by the arch, I took the Metrorail from the airport to 8th & Pine. Now, at the airport rail terminal, there was the usual row of farecard vending machines, so I bought a single-ride card and proceeded out to the train. Got onto the platform, boarded the train, rode it downtown, got off the train. And never once did I see a single turnstile or swipe my card. They sell tickets, and yet at no point do you actually have to use the ticket. There is absolutely no access control. And not just at the airport. I started eyeballing every station we stopped at, and there's no fare control of any kind anywhere. You just walk up and get on the train. In fact, I just looked at the ticket I bought, and there's no mag stripe on it. It looks like the sort of ticket you'd buy at the movie theater (it's made of paper, and the machine printed the date & time of purchase on the front) but nobody anywhere asked to see it, and it's not like they have conductors walking through the trains checking them. WTF? Does St. Louis run their trains on the honor system or something? |
Strange...

You never know, they might check.

I was driving through my neighborhood in my A6 and lightning struck a tree about 20 feet in front of me. I bet the Miata would have rattled apart if I was in it.

Jumex guava nector Pop-tarts I'm just giving you a hard time. There are days I really miss smoking. I once had a very old gentleman (ancient actually) tell me in a bar as we're watching a pretty good Beatles cover band "Don't drink, don't smoke, eat healthy...and live a LONG and BORING life." Doesn't always apply, and there are lots of facets to the argument, but it's a decent, simple justification for many of our vices. If you don't actually get enjoyment, or aren't able to see benefit from healthy living, then just live, and expect to pay for it. |

Just to follow up, I can now confirm that a flat-head screwdriver is all that's necessary to bust open the locking gas flap on a 1st gen Tacoma.
