How to fail at changing the front and rear motor mounts in a Mazda 626:

1. Put car on jackstands, jack up motor, take apart undertray and remove airbox.
2. Discover that your puny arms cannot break the required nuts and bolts free.
3. Look at your turbo miata parked in the next spot over and decide to drive to autozone to buy a breaker bar.
4. Remember that you blew the motor in your miata two weeks ago.
5. Put Mazda 626 back together, make trip to autozone.
6. Get back, take shit apart, remove front motor mount.
7. Discover that the replacement mount, while definitely the right part, does not fit. Without access to a grinder or cutting tool, realize you're fucked and decide to work at the rear mount.
8. Spend 90 minutes breaking loose four bolts to remove the rear mount.
9. It's now dark outside. Leave car on jackstands in parking lot, hope you don't get ticketed and go back to dorm room.
10. To be continued....

Is it a V2? I have no clue what so ever. I know absolutely nothing about bikes besides that they use 2 wheels.

Just look at the engine Lars. Man, sometimes I bet people can't even change a timing belt on their shit.

Oh, wait...

Lol, I got my timing belt done perfectly this time. I am just lazy and like making Scott come do it so I don't have to.

As far as looking at it, it tells me nothing. When I say I know nothing about bikes I literally mean that. I could sit on it and probably spend 30 minutes trying to figure out how to get it in gear. The closest I have ever been to riding an actual motorcycle is bending a girl over hers and having an enjoyable 15 minutes.

Ahh! There is that flu! I've been feeling symptoms since Tuesday, and the brunt of it just finally hit yesterday. Apparently it's going around heavily around here. 1/2 of my family is sick with the flu for Christmas. I've tried to sleep 3 times today but end up tossing and turning having hallucinations and feeling just weird as hell in a semi sleep stage, never actually falling into a deep sleep. I know I've got a high fever, I guess it's making me a bit loopy.

After a Sony Bravia lasted 18-months, my Samsung DLP lasted only 2-years, I just bought a 55" Walmart house brand LCD for $780 w/ 3-year extended warranty included in the price. I feel like I just bought a Yugo but after looking at the TV it didn't look $500-worse than the expensive Tv's...actually it looked just as good as the TV's which were properly adjusted at the store. I got that, a new Xbox w/250GBHDD/integrated wifi, Forza, and another controller for $1250 shipped to my door. Yes, I plan to use the warranty but I don't expect it to die before the $$$ TV's died. Moving the computer monitor into the livingroom was getting old and when it's 27*f out and can't help but play Forza.

So I'm not the only poor bastard with Samsung DLP issues. I'm still waiting to be able to afford to fix mine, which will be $150 for the main board. I haven't had a TV for over a month. I haven't missed it in some ways, but in other ways I'm going crazy not having it.

Did you DLP chip die to? Stars all over the screen?

I have a 5075S that I'll send you salvage parts from if need be. I was going to fix mine with the $240 chip but the capacitors were swollen on the power supply, the color wheel clicks, and the bulb is probably due for a change. It made sense to get something new.

Mine was having a common problem for my model (Series 6 56'') of the TV restarting over and over again on a ~15 second loop. Would power on, you would see the picture and hear sound just like normal, but you could see slight fluctuations in brightness. Then after 15 seconds or so it would go black, then power down and restart. After buying the service manual from Samsung it pointed me to the main board being the problem. I guess it's sending the power supply a bad signal and causing it to trip some sort of safety device for either electrical load or heat. Either way, $200 with a $50 core charge and it should be going again, but many people have repeat issues and it will mess up again in several months, or it could go forever and be fine.

Yeah, I caught that too. Still though, a good majority of the clips are from home videos and news broadcasts. I think it's a decent representation of how fucked up the Taliban are.

NA6C-Guy 12-27-2010 04:41 PM

I make some terrible decisions when it comes to my health. Putting off the follow up visit to the urologist for the kidney stone has very likely caused me to lose one of my kidneys function. I figured it had passed beyond the ureter into the bladder, but it apparently has been lodged in the ureter (the tube leading from the kidneys to the bladder) for the last ~2 months, blocking flow from that kidney. So it has probably just shut down by now. Heres hoping neither of my parents need a kidney, or I don't lose the other.

:giggle: I bet it's an interesting story.

Appreciate it.

Not sure whether I should be all upset about it, because I'm not really. I'm just pissed at myself for allowing it to happen. You can make it fine with one kidney typically with no issues, but you lose the comfortable redundancy, and if a family member ever needs it, it's not there. I guess I'll just have to be even more careful now and not get kicked in the side too hard or pound down two 48oz bottles of sweet tea a day anymore.

:squint: Fucking really. Now I have a damn water main broken at the street in front of my house and it's pouring a river down the hill into my front yard, my car is surrounded by a mote, and my side yard has a small lake forming, which usually only happens under the hardest of rains. At least I still seem to have water pressure, so it's probably before the meter or at the meter (coming up through the meter box) so at least I can still take a shower. Pressure is a little low though.

It's not major, just whatever a small neighborhood water main flows coming from the line leading to my meter, which I assume is either 5/8'' or 3/4''.

NA6C-Guy 12-28-2010 03:46 PM

Surgery next Thursday!

If I recall correctly the doctor said he would be performing a Ureteroscopic procedure, which requires no incisions. But they have to go in through the urethra, through the bladder, and then into the ureter with a tube and a camera and probe with a laser to break it up and a retrieval clasp or cage to remove the bits of stone, then they will leave behind a stent in the ureter to prevent further blockage and allow the 2 months of junk in the kidney to drain, which is probably loaded with infection. Then I guess I have to have a follow up after a week or so to remove the stent... I don't like to idea of stuff being rammed up my pee hole too much. What worries me is they either opt for local or general, and I would REALLY prefer not be awake and aware while they are doing this to my manhood. Plus I know I'm going to be nervous as shit since I have never had to go through any kind of surgery, no matter how minor. I'd rather just take a nap and wake up when it's all done. Hope I can go home same day, it's sometimes outpatient and other times it's an overnight. I have a feeling because of my possible kidney failure issue they will want to keep me overnight.
:yippee: :yippee: :yippee:

Reverant 12-28-2010 03:50 PM

Go for general. You'll be all sleepy and drowsy for at least 24hrs after the surgery, but its well worth it. I'm not sure the dosage is the same (I had my appendix removed 8yrs ago) but general is the way to go.

kotomile 12-28-2010 04:41 PM

Yeah, given the choice I'd do general too. I had a catheter in when I had my appendix out (at a Navy tent hospital in Kuwait), and they took it out before I came to. Then the problem was that the nurses kept pumping me full of morphine so I wasn't able to urinate, and my bladder was "distended" (sp?) and causing me more pain on top of it all... So then I had to have another catheter inserted, and I was awake, and it was a dude putting it in. Ever have a dude grab your flaccid penis and jam a tube into it? It sucks. Go for general.

NA6C-Guy 12-30-2010 05:06 AM

What the hell! I thought I finally have my home theater situation fixed for the time being, with my AV receiver running to my 24'' Samsung monitor. I have my 360 and PS3 hooked to the receiver with HDMI, and used to have the receiver to TV with HDMI for picture, which worked well. I figured I could just use a HDMI to DVI to hook the receiver to my monitor, but apparently something about the cable is confusing the receiver and it won't play sound. It's like the sound is wanting to bypass the receiver, go to the monitor, then reverse and go back to the receiver to play the sound. I can unhook the HDMI to DVI output and the sound returns, but then I have no source for video to the monitor... :vash: This is fucking retarded! I have the damn HDMI from the source to the receiver, why can't sound just play through the receiver then video continue to the monitor. Apparently it doesn't work that way, which is stupid! Oh well it was still less than $10 from monoprice for the 25' HDMI to DVI cable.
