I have my doubts that they would be more reliable if they were not told to do so.

Well, the NHTSA doesn't extend outside the US, so think about other marks and their products. But, I'm sure other countries have their own government standards that I am not sure of how much mandate is placed on said manufacturers. But I think it would be an interesting discussion of cost of R&D and materials used to produce a better/more reliable product vs cost of the end product for consumers on if warranties were not connected to the government in any way vs. the cost that is absorbed doing warranty work and paying techs to fix such issues.

I thought I would call the dealer just to be sure the warranty did not run out higher than 75,000 miles and wouldn't you know, emissions are to 80,000 miles. Dodged a bullet.

What do you think are the chances of the other side going bad soon?
Junkyard? Do you really need cats?

I have finally figured out how to remove my radio, no eyeball vent removal, no radio bezel removal, just pull out the storage compartment under the radio, reach your hand under the radio and pull that motherfocker out. SUCK IT M.NET.

After driving a tractor trailer for 600 miles in one day, going to a Miata feels like riding a goddamn lunch tray pulled behind a top fuel dragster.

My rental is a damn mazda5 half-mini-van. This thing handles and moves like a boat. I get to drive this thing for 5 weeks. Can't wait to feel the miata when I get back.

I don't think they have A/C either.
This is what I would do instead, if I wanted a Cobra R:
-Acquire SN95 Brostang GT
-Install 5.4L 4V from a Navigator
-Install T56 from bunghole
-Intake, Long tuber headers, Exhaust, 3.73 gears, Tune
-Save $40,000
-Have A/C, Radio, non-insane insurance

Typical domestic interior.

The Cobra R to me always looked very funny. Nothing really looks like it belongs on that car, and is something I would imagine a 10 year old coming up with. that body style Mustang isn't my favorite anyway. Then you add the wing that doesn't really look right on the car, add the side exit exhaust with weird looking tips, the wheels look a bit goofy to me, as does all of the remaining aero pieces and the hood. Then you have the mentioned interior, that REALLY looks out of place. Performance may be pretty bad ***, but for that price I could find plenty of other cars that wouldn't look so terrible, and make them just as good, performance wise.

I've got painted wheels, but the powder coat is chipped off some spots b/c apparently when your job is to put wheel weights on, your supposed to scrape off a bunch of powder coating too.

Well if you have hammer on wheel weights then you don't have much of a choice. The paint comes off with weights. Sticky weights ftw.
