Come to think of it, does anyone here actually own a Miata anymore?
I still have 3 1/2 (my Grandson's is the 1/2 that I maintain)

'preciate it. At least we aren't bugging you for "pics or she didn't happen". yet.

Does owning miata parts count? I have a car cover I could put over some debris and make it appear I had a miata. I could even put wheels that fit a miata in the right relative locations so you'd be even less likely to suspect otherwise. And an exhaust sticking out.

I do, but it hasn't been out of the garage in over a year. Needs a clutch (among other things) and I just didn't have time to do it last year. Was slipping so bad that I was afraid to drive it and get stranded.

Default Quick Question....

Not even going to start a thread about this, because I probably know the answer.

The stupid 3.7 rod knock is pretty amazing, like a slow jackhammer at idle. And when you first crank it, it makes squeal (which it also made in the moments before it was parked). It's pretty much a foregone conclusion that the crank is gouged beyond repair from a spun/mangled/martyred bearing right? And when I pull the crank out that's going to be painfully obvious? So then the 750 dollar problem is more like a 1000 dollar problem because new crank needed and no good returnable core? Or is really viable to have the shop weld and regrind it?

School me on reman-ing cranks.

That was a surprisingly comforting and satisfying snack. Sardines and toast with a cup of Earl Grey and cream.

This is as close as you will ever come to me posting pictures of the missus on the internet:

Hahaha. I think I still have some 1.6 parts, believe it or not.

As it stands now, I will probably be moving a bit further away from the city after my current lease is up, which would mean getting back into the car-ownership game. And although I really want a 997 Porsche, the reality is that I'm a cheapskate and will probably wind up in a PRHT NC.

Sardines and toast = win.

Earl Grey = win.

Earl Grey with cream = I understand that SOME Brits prefer to take it this way, however I elect to enjoy mine neat.

I usually take mine without, but a friend turned me on to earl grey with heavy whipping cream, and that adds a whole new dimension of flavors. I had only ever had it with standard half and half or just whole milk. No comparison.

Hmmmmmmm.

Now you've got me seriously contemplating this... And it goes against every fiber of my being to mix dairy products with hot, caffeinated beverages.

Give it a shot. If no like, no loss. I'll try anything once. *wink*

I drove my NA on leave after driving my NB and I gotta say the NA feels even more like a go-cart then the NB. I was damn close to selling the second gen go back to a NA, I can't imagine a NC being my fun car.

HK/Taiwan Style Lai Cha here. Tis more addicting than cocaine.

Earl grey style blended mix and Evaporated milk till it's light chocolate brown with Turbinado sugar (no other sugar will do).

We have a hookup for the blend out of LA that comes straight from Taiwan. I think she speaks engrish if you want to get a few pounds.

I might have to try that out one day.

I've had to keep my water intake way up, since black tea and coffee makes my kidneys turn to stone. Last time I got on a tea kick, I had two bad stones within 8 or 9 months of each other. I quit tea and coffee for a few years, but I couldn't keep it up any longer. So far the huge increase in water has seemed to dilute it enough to not bother me. Fingers crossed that it keeps working. Kidney stones are exactly opposite of fun.

Might not be for you then. It's pretty damn potent. My wife and mother in law drink it like water, but I can only have a small glass every few days or else I have an assplosion. It is tasty. If you ever have dim sum, it's likely you can ask for a "milk tea" and give it a shot.

So, I've joked a lot about America being on the path to really being like the movie Idiocracy. After a few minutes of clicking over to cable and browsing the channels, I think we actually have reached that point. I could easily imagine Frito laughing at quite a few of the shows I happened to surf through, or saw commercials for. So many shows are one notch on the stupidity scale from being people farting, kicking each other in the ***** and cursing every other word. Then I saw something about Taco Bell is serving breakfast now, and they offer a waffle taco? Holy ****, really? Why has so much of the population stopped caring? If this, and my last trip to WalMart is any indication of things to come, there really is zero hope for this country.
