If FEMA had the bicycles, would it fund Hustler's manlet bib?

First attempt: Bike Ride Profile | Old La Honda with TTD and half of K near Mountain View | Times and Records | Strava I'll probably do it once more before my century in May.

I just realized that I probably ride with ~100 people total per week and I have like 2 cycling friends, lol. I think I say "that was/is pro" at least 10x per ride and constantly compare myself to Cancellara. I get more joy out of this kind of self-trolling than actual friendship.

In for leg progress pics.
Having just upgraded my damaged wheels, I'm in the market for my first set of clipless pedals and shoes. I may be seeing wrong but from some of the pics posted it looks like there are a good number of road bikes with SPD pedals.
What do you velominati think of road shoes with the 2 bolt SPD cleats? Do they develop hot spots from the smaller contact area or any of that anecdotal stuff? I'm interested in using a nice road shoe once I'm trained but will probably also have a touring or MTB shoe for commuting to work or occasional destination rides. One pedal type for both would be good.

Cool. So you just rock the same 2 bolt SPD road shoe for your road and mountain bike?
What pedals have you got on the CAADlliac? I know you put the heavy miles down on the road bike. It sounds like smaller, standard SPD pedals and the like will suffice from your crank bros example.

I run Speedplay Zeros on the CAADfather with Sidi Pro-5 because I could not buy them after I tried them on. I'd also consider a Bont shoe, but have no desire to change from my current set-up.

I will say, if you can afford it, getting a pro fit done to eliminate hot spots and potential knee pain is money well spent. I went from having left knee pain after my road rides to being perfectly comfortable on my Bianchi C2C.
I know how to adjust all my settings on my bike to dial in fit/comfort but I was amazed at how all the VERY small little adjustments affected my comfort and recovery.
Also, I'm a speedplay *****, so I'll recommend them just on how nice they are to clip into and how well they release as well.
