If you could afford a GTR, would you buy one?

You do know that some of the higher end newer cars gain something like +100hp from just a simple re-flash right? Not even bolting anything on.
Ok, so you don't want a "mature car", you want something with crappy interior and fit/finish but with a TON of power stock and really tough. There's plenty of options for that. GT500, ZL1, Hellcat, Viper, Corvette, the list goes on and on and on.
The GTR falls into that category, but I would never get one if I was going to keep it stock either. And GTR is going to cost a whole lot more to maintain than the cars I've mentioned above, because it has more "systems", sensors, clutch packs, diff packs, etc etc etc than all those "simple" 'MURICAN cars
Ultimately it's whatever fits your needs, and you've still not really outlined any requirements, only that it needs to be stock and newer and daily driveable. What specific requirements do you have aside from that? Turbo, v8, awd, manual, auto, sounds amazing, handles amazing, what?

You said you want new, fun, and fast, that's it. kinda vague! What else do you want? Cheap, easy to wrench on, reliable, maintenance you can do yourself, good looks, classic or catchy looks? DD friendly? Track worthy? Warranty important?
You said no mods, so is that zero whatsoever, or is a tune-only ok?
Personally I shopped the GTR in 2013 and CTS-V. I was interested because GTR. It was going to be about 102K for the one I wanted, I sat in one they had in stock for 94K and started it up (they wouldn't let me test drive a new one) but I couldn't get over how cheap and unrefined the interior was for the price. But I had been looking at Mercedes before this.... I ended up buying a 14' C63 instead for 75K. Cheaper car, maintenance is much cheaper, 4 doors, much nicer/more features, simple motor compared to GTR (big na v8 revs high). Cons is not as flashy, not nearly as fast/capable, no trubos, trans not dual clutch, regular brakes, etc. But I'm ok with that, I wanted a sporty luxury sedan that's quick and fun and reliable and has a warranty, and so far I'm pretty happy with it.
My suggestion is figure out what you want, then go shopping and figure out what ticks all the right boxes. Before sitting in/driving both I would have picked the GTR then the CTS-V then last the C63 (basically faster = better at the time) After seeing, sitting in, and driving the C63 I had to have it.

Last night I was looking at the '15 Z06 and the 3 packages confuse me. Price jumps but aside from a few options here and there it was hard to compare the differences. In any case, I like them and would totally explore that venue.
Power is most important. Handling is least important. Looks are subjective.

I'll come out of left field on this one... how about a nice Audi R8?
New or pre-owned.
Coupe or Spyder.
V8 or V10.
If I had the dollars to entertain a GTR, I'd be shopping for an R8 myself.
Especially if you're not looking to track the car.

You're still comparing the cars and not the driver. I'm implying that your skill level as it relates to drag racing was higher than that of the opposing driver. Same driver in each car should produce different results.

To be honest, I find this very confusing. Why even have a GTR, or any other car of similar capabilities, if not for at least occasional track use? Seems like a complete waste just to DD it. 
That said, I'm seeing some very good things about the upcoming ATS-V. Might be worth the wait.
