The B series honda has nearly the same port spacing as the BP, all it would take is a different flange and a little tweaking

I imagine that it would during throttle transitions, there would still have to be lots of care put into the plenum design just as with a single TB manifold, because once at WOT its not going to be any more even than normal runners

Please do this for a reasonable price. Our stock intakes are choking us... We could all benefit from this

Well Sam is finally working on Miata stuff today.

He has the 1.6L Head flange about 3/4 machined already, he just needs to turn it on angle and do the injectors and it is done.

He is right now working on the plenum plate design as well as the throttlebody and getting the sides of the plenum designed out. He is working it out so that you have the choice of (factory miata throttlebody, honda 76mm throttlebody, or ford 90mm throttlebody).

I told him you guys are really on a budget so we won't be able to produce our own fuel rail instead we will have to have the manifold except your factory type fuel rails so as to keep our costs down. To be honest though the manifold is still going to run around the $700 mark as the costs to have everything machined out is just so high...

We are designing this manifold so that it will fit within the space constraints of the factory manifold, also the throttlebody will be angled just the same so that it should be a direct bolt in, rather than having to modify charge piping.

A bit more progress.

I will not weld this plenum solid until the material comes in for the runners. I have to maintain my ability to port match the runners to the base plate incase of any minor imperfections. Also I don't want to finish it off and someone want a different throttlebody than the factory one posted here.

Your throttlebody options upon ordering will be:
Miata 1.6L factory throttlebody
Miata 1.8L factory throttlebody
Honda 76mm throttlebody
Ford 90mm throttlebody

The runners are 2" od 11 gauge (.120 wall thickness) we port match your factory port to the size of the large runner, this does good for anyone who might have a highly ported head so now you have the flow of a larger runner at your willingness to port out your new intake manifold

Unfortunately Sam has to stop working on stuff for me for about a week as he works on more vises (those guys love those little things lol) but as soon as he is ready to pop the head flange in the machine and do the final operation (turn flange on angle and machine in injector bosses) I will be sure to let everyone know.

Now is the time for anyone in the Texas to start to contact me as I will need to do the dyno work and see how these things do, (unless any shop owners on here is willing to help us out)

IMO a ford 4.6 throttle body would be best, they are big, cheap, and easy to come by. they also have a standard 0-5v tps, and you can get them with a built in idle valve depending on the source vehicle.

Can you give us an accurate measurement for the throttlebody bore (manifold side)
We already have the bolt pattern so all we would have to do is resize the whole and then that could be optional as well.

It was a quick little itb setup I did for the 1.8

If anyone is interested in a 1.8 intake manifold we already have the head flange instock so I could build one very quickly.

How much would it take to make an enclosure for the ITB setup? (to let it be used on turbo cars, and therefore keep it relivant to most people here)

I am worried there wouldn't be enough room to build the plenum/enclosure you are wishing for as the itbs already come pretty far off the head.

If the ITBs were properly spaced out, couldn't you weld them directly to that flange and save like 5"?

Yes that could be done.

I have heard the 4age toyota has a set of itbs that are not interconnected so you can place them wherever you want. Also they should be much larger in size and therefore flow more air = more power.
