I emailed them about a refund. Hopefully they will give me one. If the clutch doesn't fit I don't see why they won't. If they don't thats BS and I say we spread the word.

How many times have you had the tranny out of your two Miatas at this point? How quickly can you do a clutch change now?
|
this will be the 5th between the two...not counting when the engine itself was out. when i dropped it to put the shims in, took us two hours on the dot. this included dropping the exhaust, unbolting the DP, removing the interior bits, etc.
|
I got a double spring pp from brainstorm in Cali with the center bore in the springs too large so the t/o bearing fit thru the bore. I wonder if it was built by clutchnet... That one didn't disengage either.
|
Brain, why did you choose the XTMM over the XTSS?
|
cause you cant get an SS disc in 200mm :( otherwise I would have.

So who was the ass that instigated the clutchnet group buy? :) insta-ban!
I filled a need for a group buy when Sam's ACT one fell apart. Sorry to hear all the problems. I hope I don't curse myself but I have a 4 puck 3X red PP and in the last two weeks I have done two auto-xes a all day Drift event and last Friday went to a 1/4 mile drag strip for 15 passes. Mine is working just fine. |
Oh ic,that's good to know.
Brain, why didn't you just swap out flywheels? |

No shims. But it did have to move the slave to almost the end of its travel for it to work. It was an area never used in the slave before (rusted and such) so I pulled it and cleaned it up good and its still not leaking so I guess I did good. |

Scott, I called you out on that ghetto shim job you did...you called me a hater.
Well, I was just trying to take care of you man! I have been doing this way too long bud!! Tony |
when he pulls it you'll get proof or not proof that it was the shimjob

considering my tob died and my clutch still "works"
|
When my spec died, there were a bunch of pieces wedge between the pp springs and the disc that kept it from disengaging. The truth awaits us.
|
yeah, i remember those pics. if my new clutch gets here Friday, ill have it open Saturday. however, i don't expect to be dropping it until the 10th. I dont expect damage like that, Im more inclined to find the shift fork separated from the TOB.

ok well here's the disc they sent brad. you can tell right off it's different, the "wings" are less dramatic, they shaved 2mm by using a thinner plate. so now it's 6mm in total vs. 8mm. hopefully it's enough. disc is on it's way to the shop as we speak.
