I actually bought and returned a pill shooter because my cat was so good about eating his pill pockets... but then one day... no more.
I may try to open the fresh bag and see if he is just too much of a hipster to eat the old ones.
edit: come to think of it, if I shove catnip in to a pill pocket, he will probably eat it faster.

The trick is to hold their head back and rub their throat a few times. It "encourages" them to swallow even if they don't want to.

Went to the local Humane Society place (Lollypop Farm) tonight. Saw a bunch of cats, but none were really what we wanted. They apparently have a bout of pink eye going around, too. Lovely.
So, we went up to Pet Adoption Network, which is the place I got my two boys in 2006. I asked about a gorgeous yellow tabby, but she's already spoken for. Asked about another large cat, but he's got a bad reputation as a fighter, beating up other cats. No good. So, today after checking their website, I inquired about another one. Sent in the application and everything. Now I'm getting that crap about letting the cats outdoors. Yes, if they want, they can go out. No, I will not lie about it.
Yes, I think you are being an unreasonable bitch for making that a condition. They're cats, for heavens sake. Teeth and claws and all. Probably survive better in the wild than you can, you ignorant ****.

I tried letting my cat outside when i was younger.. 13 or so years old. Poor thing was afraid as hell.
We've tried to let it out since again. It just looks outside the door but as soon as u open it poor thing runs upstairs scared.
One time it fell of the porch so it was stranded outside for a day before we finally found it hiding in a hole under the buildings foundation .. long story short it hates outside. We never introduced it to it and i'm quite glad we didnt.

Yeah, ours is a Window Warrior. She is completely content looking out but wants nothing to do with actually being outside. We have tried to take her out several times and it results in nothing but bloodshed and panic. If ours was born outdoors and had some experience with it, I'd be all for it. I'm not her momma and I can't teach her how to function in the outdoors so I'm happy to keep her inside and safe.

I've never gotten a kitten, always an adult cat. So, they've already made up their own minds about going out. Already developed the hunting skills or not.
I have had cats that didn't go out, and I'm fine with that. It's the people that won't let a cat out that wants to go out I have a problem with. Mine goes out to do his business and comes right back in. In warmer weather, he's outside most of the day. Always in at night, though. No sense in courting danger.

They are domesticated wild animals with wild animal instincts after all. They were never meant to be boxed up. Not that I have issue with people keeping indoor cats with no wish to explore outside, indoors. I just love seeing cats doing what comes natural to them in their more natural habitat. Stalking birds, hunting bugs and lizards, running and jumping, climbing trees, ect.

One time Turbo left me a mouse with its throat slit, no other damage, just a slit throat. I kept an eye on him for a while after that.
