Tucker just a heads up, I was a contractor also in Iraq and going to Afgan as a contractor and my job is more stressful...IE I am armed, I don't think that's a good excuse brother. If you need help with diet and lifting shoot me a PM.

 

I can't believe they're going by such a system.

I fail my weigh-in every time, but I pass the tape test (neck and waist), and even that method is old-fashioned. I've seen fat soldiers with huge necks pass over and over again.

But to not give any consideration to BF% is just silly. I bet the bodybuilders are pissed! And on top of that, short notice and while deployed? I have enough experience with DFAC food to say with confidence that they probably aren't setting you up for success in the chow line...

Good to know you've danced this dance before. However, do factor in your body and metabolism have changed in the ensuing years. - Based upon past experience, motivation and info provided, you stand a fair to moderate chance of success.

I would however start looking for other employment (even in theater). Worse case, you meet your mark and have to turn down a job. Best case, you have a safety net in place in a very shaky market/economy.

I passed my annual physical and promptly fell off the wagon. On the 24st of January without warning I get an email stating I had till the end of the 25 to complete another annual physical. It seems they decided to redo all the physicals preformed by our medic. The official reason was they found too many inconsistencies within the medic’s paperwork; however rumor has it that he was accepting bribes to pass physicals (and to think I actually lost weight to pass). I reported within the given time frame, and was not surprised to learn that I had failed the BMI portion of the physical. On the 31st I got a call from our HR department instructing me to stop by after work. I arrived at the HR office, and was handed a piece of paper stating that I was involuntary terminated effective the 31st of January the reason listed was ”unable to perform job”.
I am currently in transit out of theater, (Camp Liberty to be exact) and should be state side the 8th or 9th.
I believe I could fight this, I think I can prove that the company violated their procedures and policies, however right now I am just too damn excited about heading home to push the issue. I have decided to take 2 months off, and fix everything that has broken over the last 5 years, and to get to know my family again. After the hiatus maybe Afghanistan who knows.
