block and intake plenum is like 10 coats of duplicolor high-temp "aluminum cast coat." The valve cover is krylon wrinkle paint, left out in the 95* sunshine to dry.

I'm probably going to fill in the writing on the valve cover with kawasaki green, but silver is my fallback.

Is it too late to get the valve cover anodized gold and get "hustlin" airbrushed on the hood?

thanks. FYI, aside from the rods and pistons, most of my belfab stuff has not fit. The gasket set sucks *** for fitment too.

I don't really know how the machining went, because I don't know what to look for. The guy told me it balanced out really low, and everything went together fine. He said the rods stretch tested well, and the pistons looked as good as any. I went with a "loose" bore because I'd much rather have the car be loud than have piston to wall contact.

All the locals are already talking **** about how "oh the static compression is too low and its going to be sluggish off boost, the turbo is too big, it won't have supercharger torque, and it won't run on megasquirt."

I'm going from a tired 1.6 to a 1.9l at roughly the same static compression, so I'm pretty sure I won't notice any difference. I've been driving the car on ms for 3k miles or so, no one believes that I have it in the car actually. For the rest, I won't glorify the with an answer. Dallas has a stupid miata scene.

I'm ready to get this car on the dyno and put down 250lb/ft.

I just dropped my turbo manifold, exhaust housing, and downpipe off for jet-hot coatings inside and out. The guy said he's seen as much as a 110* reduction in temps under the hood.

If your engine bay is similar to a tupperware container laced in heat wrap, mabye.
