I love the S1000RR, I strongly considered a S1000r before picking up the Triumph.

Yup, RS includes the quick shifter as standard. You get all the options except heated grips out of the box. The quick shifter is well calibrated and it makes you feel like you are cheating a little.

Since Photobucket unscrewed us, this would be circa April 2005 while finishing up college. Yes, I parked it inside my apartment.

2004 R6, shorter velocity stacks, KN Filter, power commander, BlueFlame exhaust, -1/+2 on the sprockets. I think it was making ~110whp.

Dug my ‘78 bonneville project out of where it’s been sitting for the past 10 years. I snapped this photo, then pushed it back in the corner. Someday...

That 'saddle' explains why you've been so grouchy lately.

And that STR is the ****. Those bikes have been my 'dream' bike since I got into motorcycles. I love the 'bug eyed' ones.

That generation of R6 is a work horse, such a great bike. Also great to hear Photobucket decided to stop taking photos hostage.

They are cool but I often wonder if they are terrible to ride.

Same, I had to have it when the new ones came out. I came close to buying an older one with the round headlights a few years back but never pulled the trigger.

It was fun as hell. I bought new in Aug '04, sold it in late '07 after putting it back together after wrecking it pretty hard at Hallett. It had just over 33k miles on it. I remember one summer we rode over to Arkansas so much a couple of us burned through 3 sets of tires in 3 months.........on the wear bars from edge to edge.

I never got to ride my buddies RC51, but damn could he throw that thing around. It was always fun to watch him pull up the front wheel from a stop and not put it back down until 6th gear.

I did ride a friends '03 Aprilia Mille R..........the midrange of that bike nearly threw me off of it multiple times.

I used to be close with the MacDonald's (Norm was one of the co-founds of K&N) and their dealership in Tulsa. They were prepping their grandson, Tyler's, bike for Daytona. I got to ride the then new gen R6 before it was even released to the public.

I've had an STR as my computer background for years and I don't even own a motorcycle anymore.

On nice days out, I really still wish I had my SV. That was a really really nice bike, esp after I swapped the front and rear ends to the gixxah setups. I hope the guy I sold it to actually tracks it.

I still miss mine sometimes. I sold it after buying my MSM because I just wasn't riding it much anymore. I enjoyed riding it, but honestly most of its competitors were better. It was great fun on the street, but just "too much" for the way I wanted to ride it. My Monster gives me the same thrills at a lower ultimate speed. I did multiple 400-mile days on mine, and it never gave me any problems when I had it. Clean ones have gone up in price since I sold mine, but I don't regret selling it since it wasn't getting used enough.

Finally got around to getting my license. It was pretty easy, even easier once I realized that I'd already been pinning the throttle on the tu250 they gave me for a few of the exercises the first day. Now to find a bike that isnt a cruiser, litre bike, or too slow to take on the highway for a decent price. It seems that everything you can get for what a miata costs either doesnt run, is a cruiser, a litre bike, or is under 300cc.

What's "what a Miata costs"? If you've got $3-4k, search out a Kawasaki Versus 650 or Ninja 650 or Suzuki SV650.

You can also find Buells for that kind of money.

Damn, good price on the Buell. Can't believe how cheap these things have gotten.

Any interest in selling the race muffler separately?

I'd like to keep it under 3k honestly. Much more than that and I could just buy a new Duke 390. There are a few sv650s but I don't think being that hunched over is comfortable.
How bad are buell blasts honestly? There's a few for sale with low miles and no damage for cheap. The wife has her motorcycle license also so whatever bike I'd get would probably become hers.

My $1000 sv650 went to nebraska and back with me on it. It just rolled 42,000 miles last week.
