The company i work for is a reseller. We get pallets of used product, we check what works, what doesnt and we sell the working stuff.

My QX65 came in along with an EV100 goggle set... holy cow its so fun to fly like a crazy person through my entire house. Tuned it up a bit more, getting comfy with FPV which I've never done before and just so fun.

Picked up a few extra FPV pieces so I can setup a few extra rigs. One on my Peon230 diy 3d printed 'race (that I don't do) rig' and the other on my camera rig hexacopter.

Then I took it outside for kicks and a good gust of wind stole it away into the woods somewhere... never to be found. Sigh... ordered a new one and it'll stay indoors this time (I knew better... but dammit I wanted to open it up!!!)

I'll post video that I was recording during the wind theft once I get around to it.

Wooo! Reviewed the DVR footage (glad I got that little bugger and was using it) to find one frame amidst static that revealed an aproximate crash site. I recognized the area layout and found it in about 10 minutes yesterday morning. Winning!

That little QX60 looks pretty cool.
Ive been really wanting to get out and fly again. None of my multirotors have been in the air for a couple years now. :[

I put off trying out FPV for so long, I figured for under 200 all in for goggles/mini fpv quad with OSD and bunch of batteries... why not. Had receiver already from escapades years ago, so far so good.

I bought stuff to do FPV but I cheaped out and didnt get goggles and was just going to use a shitty little screen. Never used any of the stuff. I feel like if I had the goggles I would be much more inclined to fool around with it.

Having never used goggles before, these under $100 EV100s seem to be perfect as an introduction/entry point. I have no point of reference though, mixed reviews about them online... lack of true antenna diversity wasn't a killer for me as I'm only doing line of sight stuff for the forseeable future. If I go further, I'll invest in a better setup across the board.

When I picked up the goggles, I also picked up a ROTG01 receiver for plugging into a cellphone... which I then chromecast onto the big TV for my daughter to 'fly' around the house. She loved it, fun times.

I use this one. They work well for there price point. I'm not real into the FPV but they work well indoors and out with airplanes and quads

This is the one I bought, for under 100 (hair over with a dvr , recording saved my butt when I lost the QX65 2 weeks ago) .

10 bucks less without the DVR, but like I said... recording when I was outside saved my butt (don't take a small tiny indoor outside on a windy day...)

A co-worker bought one of these
x-vert vtol x-vert vtol
. It's pretty impressive and he's only been hovering indoors (in our cube farm area) but for $100 I might be tempted... too many hobbies already though...

Ive been flying hubsan X4s.. they are under $40 each and really fly nice. TONS of mods out there as well. I think I’m up to four of them. They’ve all been rebuilt. I had one up so high at night once I swear the LEDs were lighting up the low level clouds.... hell they’d be great at $100 each

THREAD REVIVAL. NEED THE LATEST!

I need another hobby out here like my kids need measles... but they are killing me for a drone lately. I want the ******* hotness like my buddy has in his F-35... full ***** auto-everything with a bad-*** camera that reads my brainwaves and looks through womens clothes... obstacle avoidance, multiple hover modes, "follow-me" function, long battery life, sweet gimball, payload enough to carry off a Jack Russell, night-vision, squid launcher, turbo's, public address system, and whisper mode.

But since I can't afford a Fire-Scout, what am I looking at? No, I haven't consulted the dozens of forums dedicated to this hobby, that's why I have you guys. What I really want is something thats "not a piece of garbage" and that the drone can stay in one place or be in the move while I move the camera independently. Amazon is no ******* help with homework because everything under $1000 looks like the same Chinese knockoff bullshit you get with every other tech-product that comes along.

Let's say I have $300... what am I looking at?

You can get a decent used DJI phantom 3 advanced off ebay for 300-400. The Pro version has the 4k camera and will be more $$. The standard version has lesser quality transmitter/receiver (less range), but will do follow me, waypoints, and most stuff the advanced and pro will do. The advanced and standard share the same camera.

I had a P3 Advanced for a while, then sold it for a phantom 4. I loved it. The P4 has more redundancy built in (less chance for fly aways) and is better overall. If you can swing a P4, do it,

If you havent, look into DJI drones.
