RCtimer gimbal paid for. Unless I'm mistaken, which is possible... I can hook it right up to the multiwii and tune directly from it. Should be fun.

It can as long as you have the controller board.

I don't, but I've got stabilization controls for a gimbal within the MPNG firmware... and ports on the Multiwii board. From what I can see, the gimbal motors have their own small esc. Not sure if i'll need more juice or a standalone.... but maybe the MultiWii itself can do it all.

This applies to the MultiWii Pro and MPNG i believe, http://diydrones.com/profiles/blogs/...ission-planner

There's a guy on ebay selling the bushless gimbal from teh DJI Phantom for pretty cheap including the control board. I think I'm going to pick one up and see if I can make it work.

Anyone have a standalone BEC they want to part with? I am debating cutting up a servo extension so that one of my Afro's can get sensor signal but route its power output into the gimbals... or running an extra dedicated power unit.

Voltage regulators can be had cheap almost anywhere, both linear and switching. Solder half of a servo extension to the output and bam, you have a "BEC"

Gimbal is fighting me :(
Pretty sure I need a dedicated controller board for the brushless gimbal setup, if i had servos i'd be good to go with MultiWii running the show. Ah well.

Freaking cold again here, so I finished the little vtail. From holding it with a little power in, it's going to be fun/stable. Liking the kk2.0 just from ease/simplicity so far.

Test flight outside after this picture went well. Didn't crash despite some wicked wobble in the wind, so i'll have to work on dialing that out. Managed to pull fully off throttle let it drop a few feet and full throttle it just before ground said hello.

Also need to wait for it to warm up and go outside to take it out of stable mode for actual tuning of it. Did a little work tuning in stable mode, but that is not a real picture of whats going on.

I think I might also extend all the arms on it, just not sure what I'll use wire wise to extend it all... not super excited about making a bunch of bullet connector extensions.

Broke a leg off of the Vtail. Worst part was my video didn't record, so a few minutes of footage and its first real flight (plus big vertical run) wasn't recorded :(.

I'm going to replace the arm and get it back out for more another day. Stupid tree branches and flying in crowded quarters

Hooray, crash didn't break anything other than an arm. Rebuilt and back up it went.

Should get a few minutes with it in a big space today, hopefully i bring it back in one piece or at least with some good GoPro footage to document otherwise

Crash with no burn it is! Power cut during the first real open space run (within ranges I had flown before). Its broke, new frame time and we'll see if all the bits still work then.

Video also worked this time!!

I cant believe that little thing can fly a gopro around with a case.

Tw34ks Tricopter is pretty lethargic with that load on it, and it has DT750s and 11" props

Looks like the similar motors, I'm running 8x4.5s and a 3s with mine. Going to a bigger frame to see if the can handle it, longer arms out of 3/4 poplar vs the 1/2 before. It'll be heavier/stronger... but it'll be interesting to see if that switch is worth it.

It is peppy considering the extra weight. At least it feels so to me... but i'm new to these things. Video was not full throttle btw.

Sometimes waiting for stuff from China sucks... still waiting for the 2axis gimbal controller.

On the bright side, received my new Frsky Taranis... spiffy little bugger.

The trick when ordering from china is to never stop buying things that way you have other things to play with while waiting on the most recently ordered.

At least that's how I cope with waiting on snail mail.

Do I have a problem?

I got so impatient that I bought another gimbal w/controller today from a local

Anyone want a RC Timer aluminum gimbal w/motors and a new in wrapping (once it arrives) controller from RC Timer?

This board:
2Axis IMP GoPro brushless gimbal with controller - Accessories - RCTimer RC Plane Car MultiRotor APM and MultiWii Carbon Fiber Propeller Hobby Store

This gimbal:
BG20 GoPro Gimbal with Control Board - Gimbal - RCTimer RC Plane Car MultiRotor APM and MultiWii Carbon Fiber Propeller Hobby Store

Note, gimbal apparently doesn't come with that anti vibration mount, just to top of that back aluminum strut where it has 4 threaded holes to mount directly to coptor or a plate of your making.
