My first drive at 200 WHP
Since my fiasco with the SC 92, I went to our local auto x today to see if there is anything for sale. Found that a 97 with a FMII kit was just hitting the market. Went over to see/drive it tonight. Ended up being a little rougher than I want body/interior wise but it was FUN! It was set up originally to run 16 psi on 104 octane. Did 240 WHP then. Current owner has it dialed back to 12 psi on 93. I'm guessing 200 WHP. Built bottom end with Wiesco 9:1's and forged rods. What a hoot! Kick it sideways anytime in 2nd, unless straight ahead on concrete. This is why everyone says "drive 200 WHP before you say you need more". What a gas. I now know I would be more than happy with 200 WHP. Heck, you can't use more than that on street tires anyway. He only had 215 Goodyear F1's on it, so maybe something stickier would hanlde it better. Still a good time. That said, I did call the 92 SC guy to up my offer to $7,500. That car is so clean, with HT and new Robbins glass top, I think I can get it to 170 WHP without too much trouble. It would still be enough to get me in hot water.

On topic.... the car at 12psi can make several different rwhp numbers depending on the turbo used. Turbo sizing can make the difference between 190rwhp and 250rwhp. Good luck on your quest for the right car for you!

EDIT: Uhhh yeah $7500 for a 92 isn't good. I'd sell mine for around that.
