it's got a plastic vanity panel and a prettier connection pipe, below all that are the same plastic bosch divertor/bypass valves you bitch about

****, have we wandered into miata.net?

**** you

It's more likely the stock turbos have integrated bypass valves or something, hence the need to go with the Bosch units when replacing the stock turbos. My complaint wasn't about the Bosh bypass valves, merely the sloppy execution of the thing and the lack of attention to detail.

Probably not. those are used on almost every porsche/vw and the KKK K24's aren't any different than say a KKK K03 or K04, assuming that has K24's.

Fair enough...but, the more I look at those Bosch valves on the 9ff 997, the more it looks like they're not recirculating anything...they're venting to atmosphere. Which is probably why they're installed backwards, to limit the boost leakage...

Really, the more I look at this car, the funnier it is. I applaud the rest of you for standing up for your convictions, though, and admitting you'd be fine owning a backyard turbo kit on your 997 turbo...I guess

no, then it would be boosting against the spring and they'd leak.

That's what I said, Phil. They're installed backwards from the way they're supposed to be installed in a recirculating setup, likely to limit boost leakage...since they're venting to atmosphere.

Hey where did Kurt go? i see the zip tie now upon further inpsection. The pipes would be nothing more than a grind down smooth afair and then PC job. The Bov's are a simple fix as well hell they could even get t clamps for not to much more money so yeah you guys are right they did cheap out, its about like paying for a 50 inch LCD HD 1050i and geting a 62 inch rear projection Hitachi ultravission. both get the job done But the LCD is alot sweeter given the outlay.
