Or the insistence of the pope that condoms are still evil in HIV destroyed Africa.

Remember in Nov 2008 when those ------s Bush, Palin, Obama, Polesi, McCain, and the whole ******* gang was holding hands and saying we had to urgently pass that stupid ******* bailout package in order to save the world. That was what 800 Billion? And maybe you forgot...it didnt do jack ******* ****.

But its okay, we can now start dumping money into other bullshit programs and such because we urgently passed another astormonitcal 900 billion dollar package (signed a quick four days later). And when that doesn't work, obama will rally for HOPE and he'll just dump more somewhere else. We don't learn from history and mistakes (see Rooesvelt vs. Reagan).

If Obama really wanted to fix the economy, he go on TV, and he'd say " We WILL fix it by 2011." But I'm still waiting for his line-item vetos he promised.....there's about 9000 waiting for him in that last package he signed.

You'll like this, especially the part from Peter Schiff of Euro Pacific Capital

CPI Rises Despite U.S. Recession - Forbes.com

But the bailout did do something right. Apparently corporate lending has resumed to manageable levels. Credit freeze has warmed up a bit. I was able to get another student loan, ect.

why is everyone acting like pork is a new concept? No one bitched about Bush funding racetracks in his bailout package. There should have been outrage a long-*** time ago.

People seem to have forgotten how important energy independence is to national security. Govts who produce oil, control our economy. We've been in recession since jan 08 and a good part of the cutback in spending was from surging prices.

Green = safe future AND might plausibly not exasperate a climate issue.

there is a miracle car forum bubble that denies global warming exists.

points to never forget:
1. the climate is changing
2. human net carbon emissions are likely the cause
3. the IPCC projections given were their most conservative model

I don't deny there's a need to advance our energy technology, reduce carbon emissions and become energy independent. I also don't deny that one volcano eruption would is worse than all the emissions from tree loggers over the past ten years or something god awful.

My issue is that green seems to be the go-to answer for everything.

Hey kids, do bad on your homework? Use recycled paper next time.
Gas prices got you down? Repaint your house with low VOC paint.
Unemployment skyrocketing? Hire a few nerds from MIT to research green technology.
Credit system in a stalemate? Buy a Prius.
Mortgage and Pruis payments too much; about to foreclose? Switch to mini florescent lights.

That's an interesting way to look at it. I thought it was 271 to 266. So should we have it where the President should get at least 50% of the popular vote? I'm all for that myself. I think the Electoral College is stupid.

Actually sex education isn't promoted by the government unless it is abstinence only programs. Which studies have shown to not work. Same as DARE, both instances have failed and do little in the long wrong. People/kids are going to have sex regardless, would you rather they NOT have access to condoms and at least protect themselves and not get pregnant OR don't give them out at all and watch the STD and Pregnancy rates rise? Fact is, kids have sex at young ages and because we don't teach them how to protect themselves we have programs like this. NOW if we would actually do a real, in depth sex education program, rates would fall dramatically and kids would put off sex longer, it has been shown.

Like I said, in a sense I can appretiate how things were. I have a lot, and have a pretty successful life, because of the society I grew up in I had to work 3 time as hard to achieve what I have. Actually Mexicans were treated pretty harshly too. Not as harsh as African-Americans at the time, but they were considered lower class in the south west before and after state lands were enacted. Some have even gone as far to say that the Mexican-American war was forced against Mexico, but that is up to debate. I understand that African-Americans went through allot, but you must realize that allot of stuff happened to ALL people that weren't of a certain creed.

Also, you've forgot to mention why don't Native Americans cry about not getting a president. They were basically treated as rogue for ages. Certain people of the military actually enacted genocide type tactics against them.

I have a novel idea...how about parent teach their kids this stuff instead of paying for programs and free condoms. That's what I did with mine. Oh, never mind, that would require parents to actually talk to their kids and know what they are doing. I guess that was a stupid idea.

so why not incentivize those somewhat immature industries and reduce emissions and energy dependence all at once while you have the chance?

the paper recyclers, VOC paint makers, toyota prius builders, and fluorescent light makers are all putting people to work aren't they?

those parts of the stim pkg aren't designed to alleviate the things you mated them with necessarily. i see your point tho.

Parents don't want to do that sort of thing now a days. I don't have kids, but I am damn sure I am going to talk to them about it.

That would be nice wouldn't it? Unfortunately there's to many people having kids that just don't give a damn or know any better. My brother in law is a middle school teacher. I can't believe some of the things he has told me. Students cursing him, talking back, not listening and pregnant. He's told me that just about every time he went to a parent when having a problem with a child that the parents flips the script on him saying he did something wrong.

The big problem is that there's just too many damn people in this world. Weather or not it's right to do something about that is up for debate but something needs to be done.

My mom's been a assistant principle for the past 8 years now, and the stories she tells, settled the debate on if it is really the kids learning it from their peers or the parents. It's the parents. They are retarded, quite simply put.

My mom, the asst. principle, had one of her teachers, who had her daughter going to the school, bitch my mom out for disciplining her daughter who missed 15 days of school...it was before December this happened...so school was in for a total of 3 months.
