Out with the old in the with new M3
My current daily driver has been a leased 135i. I like the car a lot especially with the JB3 piggyback. It dyno'd at 325whp/350tq on a mustang. My lease is almost up and was looking at various options but due to my 1 year old son I needed 4 doors. I really wanted to like the Cadillac CTS-V-engine was awesome but the styling left me cold. The C63 AMG had a great engine and decent chassis but front seats were so heavily bolstered that my spine didnt touch the seat-very unfortable. Thought about other options like used S65AMG(cheap, twin turbo V12 woo hoo) used M5 but eventually it came down to a new M3
Having had the car a couple of days I really like it. The twin clutch transmission is pretty cool and in drive mode it's almost as tractable as an automatic making it quite wife friendly. Engine sounds great but the low end torque isnt like the 135s. the handling is an order of magnitude better-the competition pack really does make a noticeable difference over the standard suspension. The break in period in the manual says not to go over 5500 rpm for the first 1200 miles, oops broke that rule already.

Have you thought about an E63 AMG. You won't get quite the same handling, but the extra comfort might make up for it. I think it looks very similar to the CTS-v. I wish the front of the CTS-V looked like the regular CTS.
If you do get the M3, please report back with a little writeup. The convertible model is on my list.

Awesome car.
My DD is now 11 years old, and I'd love to have one of these. I actually really like the 135, and think the 1M (I know, it's not a real M) looks like it would be a lot of fun.
Unfortunately, my new car money went into replacing the kitchen appliances. I sigh every time I open the fridge.

White in Oregon doesn't really work well, especially this year.
Are you private practice or at one of the local hospitals? You definitely should show up at a meet. Were trying to get a beer meeting orgainized for doppel and co.'s visit.
