When people cry about how difficult it is to get a job today in America.
We literally employ anyone. Starting pay $18/hr.

This was done by a "journeymen" with 20+ years in the industry.

I'm angry that "millennials" get such a bad rep for being lazy, taking shortcuts, demanding something for nothing, and generally being privileged little bitches. I see the same type of crap from a 45 year old man who can't be bothered to pick up his apple core when he missed the trash can from 15' away.

Not that OSHA would approve of the above but there's something to be said for the engineering challenge of getting away with as little as possible.

Earthquake bolts:

IDK, that all looks up to code except for the problem in the second pic, with that rusted nut on the hold down anchor not showing at least three bolt threads sticking up past it. What would you rather they had done in those pics? (ie. what was as minimal as possible?)

That was my guess, but it was pissing rain and I didn't crawl under enough to see how they lifted it.

90 Miata stick shift. I didn't know they were isolated. The original cut revealed a washer on top of the rubber area, with a threaded post and nut. The washer looks like it actually touches the outer shell.
