Don't do dex, kids
Being the stupid teenager I am, one of my stupid teenage friends told me to try DXM. Now, I had known about dex since I was 12 or 13 years old. It had always been at the back of my mind.
I took a small/average dose – 160mg to see where it would take me. Well, after 45 minutes – an hour, I was flying. I walked to the bathroom and back (just down my hall) and it was a trippy experience. Vision was slower, and everything was strobing (A positive effect, it was pretty cool.). Walking was difficult. Erratic and difficult, but still fun to do. I spent a while walking around just because the feeling was so cool.
So, I got back to my room and sat down at my computer. Tried to play NFS: HP but it was MUCH too difficult. I noticed a slight pain in my stomach. Didn't think anything of it, put on movie, and spent probably 30 minutes listening to it and staring off into space. I was out of it. I could barely lift an arm to move the mouse, it was just... Difficult. If I tried, I could do it, but it's like I never even wanted to try, I was perfectly content with sitting there staring.
Then, bad things happened. The pain in my stomach got worse and worse – eventually, I vomited into my trashcan. I knew it was coming. What I DIDN'T know was coming was one of the worse experiences of my life. All I remember is being passed out with my head in the trashcan, vomiting profusely, feeling like I was going to die. With how much pain I was in, death wouldn't have been such a bad thing. I started thinking about all the people I would hurt and everyone and pulled it together. I was sweating profusely. (Just for a frame of reference, this lasted for probably 30-45 minutes). I can't put into words what this was like, but it was sheer misery, agony. The effect on my mind didn't help either.
Soaked in vomit, with vomit running down my mouth, I hit my pillow and passed out, hard. It's now 2:45AM and I woke up at 2:15, almost completely back to normal.
I see the purpose of LSD, I see the purpose of shrooms, I see the purpose of nearly all psychedelics, but I see no rational purpose for dexing. Do not do it. It is dangerous.
I thought I would share my story so someone doesn't do the retarded thing that I did.

I have taken largish doses of 'tussin before, but only because I was so f'ing frustrated at my cough. It did cut my cough for awhile, and gave me a trippy ride. I wouldn't do it recreationally though. I could feel my rationality sliding away... Scary feeling.

Looking at the mg of DM in Robitussin, I estimate MY high intake to be no more than 30mg. I can see how 180mg could send you for a loop.
I know you don't want to hear this - but stay away from the drugs please. I work in a hospital ER and I see and deal with all the crap that happens because of stupid decisions like yours. You come in fighting, you get tied down. If you are unable to communicate they draw blood and stick a catheter in your ***** to get urine. I wish I could make a public service video of how stupid people look after doing DXM, Cocaine, PCP, or even just booze.

^Lol, my friend had 17x (i think) and I sat there mumbling nonsense for 10 minutes with my head pointed at the floor. I enjoy other psychedelics more, but they usually involve giving up your day to do them.

I was over at my neighbors house around Thanksgiving a few years back because that where I stayed during breaks from school. I had an absolute horrible cold. So I ended up drinking a full bottle of liquid cold medicine in a relatively short time, because it would make me stop coughing. At one point I had to go to the bathroom. So I tried to stand up and then just promptly fell over. I felt drunk as hell. So that is my one Tussin story, and because of that I have no clue why anyone would ever want to use that to trip.

LOL at drug use. I can even barely bring myself to eat the free pastries at work on Fridays.
I once had to take Codeine cough syrup for a bad cough. The stuff worked, and cut the aches too. No high. After a few days I noticed I'd wake up with a headache. Thinking it was withdrawal, I set the alarm for 2 AM to take a 4th, every 6-hours dose. That fixed the headache. So when the bottle was running out, I knew I had to wean myself of by shrinking the dose bit by bit.
For agonizing PRP injections into a knee meniscus injury, I have to take >15 mg of Vicodin to make them bearable. It makes me very sleepy and a bit drunk, and I don't understand why anyone would look for that high...
BTW Prohibition of Drugs doesn't work, just like Prohibition in the 20s.

Adding trauma to injury, when they entered the home, the cops shot the mayor's black Labrador Retrievers. Neither dog was trying to attack them. In fact the younger dog, 4-year old Chase, was shot by officers as he tried to escape into the kitchen of the home. Seven-year old Payton was shot by the police the moment they entered the house. Police officers said the large dogs "intimidated them," and without being threatened by either docile pet, cops shot both of them.

I've been working in the pharmacy field since 2001. The amount of people abusing prescription drugs is just mind blowing. The high you get from most of them is so shitty I am amazed that people actually can enjoy it. And yet they're ready to go to jail for it.
When I worked in a retail pharmacy we got robbed twice at gun point for oxy's.
The guy hit up like 10 pharmacies before he was finally busted.
His face was so fucked up he looked almost non human. I felt so sorry for him. I highly doubt he will live to 40

For the same amount of painkilling, does oxy give you less high than Vicodin?
I only need the painkilling action for <30 mins it takes to do the intra-articular prolotherapy knee injections. I want to be able to drive afterwards if possible, perhaps after waiting an hour or 2.
The post-injection pain is bearable with just Tylenol.
I'm not allowed NSAIDs or other anti-inflammatories because it blocks the action of the prolo.
