Default So I just shot a skunk....

...with a pretty powerful pellet gun, couldn't sleep so I was heading downstairs to my cave when I heard a bunch of hissing I look out my window and see three cats one goes hauling *** down the street the other two backs all arched about 10ft from the front door of my townhouse. Open the front door and about 20ft away is a skunk so I grab the pellet gun a buddy gave me awhile back for this specific occasion. For being 1 A.M. and dead silent outside this thing was freaking loud and damn I've never heard such a horrible screech from an animal, cats haul *** away skunk goes running I close my door and now I'm here.

By this occasion I mean I came home one night and a skunk was just chillin on the corner of my townhouse I was standing about 15ft away trying to scare the thing off but it acted like I was never there. Next morning the neighbor told me it sprayed his dog. Anyway that's my entertainment for the night/morning.

Can you tell which 3 out of the 4 members who posted above me have Daddy issues?

Sounds like me when I was working on the miata 2 summers back and had this ******* wretched monster lurking out from the gardens to attack me.

I was usually armed with bamboo spears ready for it to come at me. Although it did have me jump up on the car a handful of times due to its extreme behavior when it caught me off guard.

This is why I want a suppressor...when animals attack.

.22 subsonic is awesome. Incredibly quiet, usually no silencer needed. And its usually just straight unjacketed lead too.

I've got some .22 Super Colibri's that are ultra quiet, especially out of my 10/22 if I hold the bolt closed. Worries me that one might get stuck in the barrel, but it hasn't happened yet. Probably helps that I got an old pawn shop 10/22 with a nicely used up barrel.

You know, the only ammo that doesnt jam in my Marlin (semi-auto with the magazine under the barrel like a shotgun or winchester) is the Federal hollow points. The subsonic does jam a lot around the bolt. No problems with the barrel though and its a pretty young gun in terms of the ammo run through it. I have probably put about 1000 rounds through it max.

Yeah, when I'm shooting the low power stuff I just hold the bolt closed and then manually cycle it. Less hassle. I'd like to find a cheapo .22 bolt action just for that purpose.

Still want a supressor, though. I've got a pistol with a threaded adapter ready for one, just can't pony up $200 + $200 tax stamp for one right now.

Poor Pepe. He was just looking for some love and you shot him.

Personally. I wouldn't want to shoot a skunk 20' from my front door. I don't need to smell that for the next month.

He didn't spray when he got hit? I figured he'd have unloaded.
