Pipe size is different I believe.
That thread told me nothing.

The 1.8 TB is bigger. That's one of the reasons to use it instead of the 1.6 TB.

I know the signal that controls the ISC is differant bwtn the two. That's one of the issues I'm going to have to work out , since I'm keeping my 1.8 TB on my 1.8 swap powered by my 1.6 link. apparently the mark1 version could operate either style valve while the mark2 cannot. I will apparently have to use an idle speed higher than normal to allow for a drop in idle speed when accesories such as A/c are turned on. I actually cranked my motor last night for the first time. will be working on it some more today and tomorrow.

Hey Ben....

99 intake will need to be on the head for sure. You don't have much choice, unless you get a BEGI, or one of the other custom ones.

TB.... you've got issues with the MS, probably since it's designed for the 1.6 TPS sensor.... which is the on/off. The 1.8's will have a different TPS. Also I'm not sure 100% if an M1, 1.8 TB fits, so if it doesn't, you'll need to fab something for the IAC -- it's totally different on the 99+. <G> The M1 1.8 IAC might mount work with the 1.6 computer.

What about going with one of the BTB style ones from FM (aka SOT) that the SC guys use? Maybe that would let you get away with some of it....?

WOO HOO!! We got us a pioneer. Please keep me/us updated as you figure it out. My MS is probably like your link 1 in the fact that idle control is reactive instead of proactive. My idle is a little bit higher now too for the ac.

OK, I'll have to find the 99 mani. They seem to be EXPENSIVE.
I'm not worried about the TPS situation--it's not an issue with my MS. The IAC may or may not be an issue.

Yeah the IAC for the 99's runs without the "wax" valve in it... so it's a completely different design. The only person I can think of running the 99 one, is Gord on M.net, with the cold side, but he's got a link.... IIRC.

There was a recent thread about IACs over there. Might explain it better than I can.

Dave,

I just emailed DIY on this issue. I'll post the response.
