Sounds like a poor example to me if you're comparing it to a 335... that said, I can't lie and say its not a heavy car. There isn't any way around some of the issues that arise from that. Agility isn't its strong suit by any means. Its a fast straight line car that can hold its own in a corner for what it is as a heavyweight and you can be comfortable doing it. I've never driven the 6L90 Automatics (because auto's bore me to death), but the TR6060 Manual transmissions are great (especially with an aftermarket shifter). Long story short, if you're expectations are to have a nimble luxury car I can see you being disappointed. If you're expectations are to have a fast straight-line luxury car, I don't think you can start out with a better platform for the money right now. They really start to wake up with bolt-on's and maintenance is no different than any other LS based car.

Are you specifically wanting new? 17's come with everything you need and you will never get another engine that sounds like it. I have really, really, really considered it, but I don't want to pay for 19" tires lol.

For something like street legal, track car off the showroom floor, yes.

At this point, I'm leaning more toward a new M2 with an extended warranty. Enjoy having a massive HK stereo, nice interior, and something that is still nearly as fast GT350. I even watched a test on YouTube where at Gingerman (I think) the M2 was actually a few tenths quicker.

Locally I'm not seeing any 981 S that are within what I'm wanting to spend. But of course, depending on how the company stock does good change the budget next year for good or bad.
