Default Trolling Americans for Life

Saw and ad for Americans4Life.org that really pissed me off; it stated something about cutting government funding to Planned Parenthood to stop abortions. Naturally, this lit up a few lights on my bullshit radar and I just had to troll them. I was going to call them, but they don't offer their private number.

Hello,

As a non-denominational Christian, I believe that abortion is wrong. You are taking away a potential life, and stripping the fetus of it's dignity and right to live.

With that out of the way, I must protest that I have a problem with what you are doing. You state that funding to Planned Parenthood should be cut because abortion is wrong, which is an honorable cause. However, what I have a problem with starts with the idea that a significant portion of funding for planned parenthood goes towards abortions. Off the top of my head, less than 10% of what planned parenthood does is abortions. Apart from that, did you know that Planned Parenthood cannot legally fund abortions through government subsidy? That means that zero taxpayer dollars are going towards abortions; they have been and will continue to be funded by private contributions. This is why I am confused by your desire and campaign to cut funding.

Furthermore, cutting funding to planned parenthood would reduce the number of people who are able to be helped by Planned Parenthood. Planned parenthood offers the following services:
-Contraceptives (Emergency and otherwise)
-Screening for various cancers (Breast, ovarian and testicular)
-Pregnancy testing
-Pregnancy counseling
-STD testing
-Sexual Education
-Menopause treatment
-Vasectomies
-Tubal Ligation (Tubes tied)
-Abortions

The first 9 services are subsidies by the government and private contributors; the last one is funded solely by private contributors. By taking away government funding, you are taking away tests and services that will do nothing but help and educate the American people. Abortions will still exist and be preformed. In addition, Planned Parenthood, if I am correct, will not turn down someone in desperate need of an abortion. No matter how you look at it, abortions will continue to happen for people who feel that they are necessary and there is no changing that.

I must also protest that I feel what you are doing is wrong by the principles of Catholic morality. By eliminating planned parenthood, one would take away the freedom of one who wishes to receive services from them. While some people might go against the church, it is not our place to decide what is best for them. Everyone has a right to make their own decision, regardless of what they believe. By campaigning to cut funding from Planned Parenthood, you are stripping them of their human dignity. Everyone has a right to choose for themselves.

I look forward to hearing your response.

Sincerely,
Cullen H-----
Will post their response when I get it.

http://eternal-earthbound-pets.com/

You've committed your life to Jesus. You know you're saved. But when the Rapture comes what's to become of your loving pets who are left behind? Eternal Earth-Bound Pets takes that burden off your mind.

We are a group of dedicated animal lovers, and atheists. Each
Eternal Earth-Bound Pet representative is a confirmed atheist, and as such will still be here on Earth after you've received your reward. Our network of animal activists are committed to step in when you step up to Jesus.

We are currently active in 26 states, employing 40 pet rescuers. Our representatives have been screened to ensure that they are atheists, animal lovers, are moral / ethical with no criminal background, have the ability and desire to rescue your pet and the means to retrieve them and ensure their care for your pet's natural life.

We currently cover the following states:
Maine,New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Michigan, Arkansas, Mississippi, Tennessee, Kentucky, West Virginia, Colorado, Oklahoma, Kansas, Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, North Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, Illinois, Iowa.

Did you guys catch this clown last month?

If we could allow 100% government funding for any abortions and the complete elimination of all income tax credits, society as a whole would be significantly better off, IMO.

Was with you except when you channeled Gawd for your argument. So you're a Christian, so this or that is in line with/against a "Catholic morality". So what?

Whenever anyone uses their religion to further their case, it shows me that they have no case because, to me, religion and morality are not necessarily connected and are oftentimes mutually exclusive.

While I agree with you that religion and morality aren't intertwined, I find myself agreeing with the Catholic moral standpoint. Apart from all the crap about contraceptives, condoms, executions and what not, I feel that morality is one thing that the church got right. To be honest, the original was written without the whole charade about Catholic morality was put in because I saw that the guy himself was a catholic. I was more curious as to how he would react to being called out on his own religion than actually using it as a point.

For whatever it's worth, the reason I classify myself as a non-denominational Christian is because I DO agree with the moral standpoint, and maybe even some of the teachings, but not with the way that worship and life is executed. I hesitated to even call myself a Christian, but there you go. When you get down to the denominations, that is what causes infighting and arguments, in my mind.

EDIT: So, serious question, given that the guy is religious himself, do you think it would have been a stronger argument if I had left the passage about morality out?
