But it'll make 750hp as opposed to the FM 200 hp. So, probably the LS. :P

Edit: Still 1k cheaper than a fully built FM shortblock though. LOL @ FM.

Edit2: Longblock for longblock... almost the exact same price. Wow.

Ya.

None of us did. Well maybe you.

If I would actually take this thread seriously, I'd tell you to get an s2k. Looks insanely sexi, and with the kinda money you are pretending to have, it would make 700-1000 easily and rape face. Built motor, straight cut gears, biggest borg available, etc.

Don't get me started on that. I'm too tempted to pull out my VVT/turbo setup and put in a rotary right now. :|

Now that I work at the detail shop I mental ---- every nice car that comes in. I stare at the interiors trying to decide what I love and what I hate. The more cars we work on as time goes on the better they seem to get.

If I was going to drop $30k+ on a car I'd want the interior to be ****. ---- the "performance" so much, only because that's what the miata is for. Just so long as it drives nice and gets out of its own way, I'm ok with that.

For me, I'd want heated and cooled seats, heated steering wheel, leather everything, console full of buttons, plenty of space, etc etc.

I really like the new C-Class Mercedes. Mid 2000's Porsche. Cadillac. Audi. BMW.

---- spending that kind of cash on another project or gm junk.

Why not take that 50k, give it to FM, and have them make your car run?

Obviously.

I simply assumed that he would be securing a loan to cover 100% of the cost of the vehicle, presumably at no less than 14% APR.

he can't put together a running miata that's been out for 20 years and has a plethora of parts and modifications competing with some of the most aftermarket-backed cars out there.

you think he should get a car that just came out this year?

REALLY?

Easy... C6Z. Put some CCWs or something on it with some Michelins or Invos. Boom daily driveable.

Do bolt ons down the road. make like 475whp.

With everyone making 1K hp it doesnt sound like a lot, but a 500whp vette will boogie especially if you put traction to it.

My choice
Early Viper GTS for under 30K. The ones with forged motors are good for like 750whp with stock bottom end. Even factory clutch will handle it. I think the ones prior to 99 have the forged bottom end IIRC
.

Whatever you get, just make sure that SOMEBODY ELSE built the car so it will run. We don't need any more "How do I install a pilot bearing" threads.
