I am considering building the motor but i may cash out and be done with the subarus. Yes the tune was safe. I think the motor ran low on oil and with the new suspension i could corner a lot harder and put down the power in the turns. That plus too little oil = blah.

My miata was super reliable and a fantasic worry free purchase for 4 years until i turboed it. I will take that as a lesson.

I have done well for myself getting a decent job and income. I shouldnt have to make myself worry about or deal with this shiz. Blech
you need a Tesla. I don't think you could break that.

Do yourself a favor: buy something that's fast from the factory and still under warrantee. DO NOT TOUCH anything on it. Just drive it.
He should just take a cab wherever he needs to go. I am pretty sure that is the only way he won't break something.

Pick up a nice clean stock 04 C5Z and STFU. With sport seats they are super comfortable. I used to drive my FRC 400 miles each direction to and from school and it was just as comfortable as the grandma buick, and pulled better MPG's too.

If you cry about the interior, you are a soccer mom, a yuppie, or just want an excuse to hate American cars. For the price, it can't be beat. Once I'm making decent money, I'll be back in one.

fukken this. I drove my car about that distance recently and it was surprisingly comfortable but the seating position makes receiving roadhead from hoes difficult -- as I found out somewhere north of Orlando.

ummm, wat?

Please explain. From where I'm looking the c6 interiors are leaps and bounds superior to the c5

in the C6, everything feel and looks like plastic. in the C5, everything is also plastic, but it feels a lot cozier. it's hard to explain but the C5 feels a lot better inside.

Get a 997. Don't jump it. Live happy ever after.

Also I really, really, really dig that Superlite SLC.

..and enough room for a twin-turbo V8.

Like the new mustangs, they look better, but feel FAR worse. I hate interiors with square edges, especially on the shift handles, center consoles, and arm rests.

The only gripe I had about the C5 was the steering wheel. It lacked volume control I've become used to with newer cars.

As a valet driver for a few years, I drove about everything short of Ferrari's and Lambo's. BMW's and Benz's never did impress me much. The Jag's weren't bad though.

With that budget, I would either buy a Radical or a Atom. Stupid fast and you can build your own turbo Honda for the Atom if you feel the itch. Personally, if i am spending that kind of money I'd rather buy the car and then "build" my own tweaks to it. then again, a Fox body coupe, race suspension, and a 12 Boss 302 crate engine would be retarted too and maintenance and parts are dirt cheap.

That car without twins is 150k+
Not even close to to budget.

At a base price of 43k without driveline, and no extra goodies.
There's around 40k worth of extras on their site alone not including interior.
You have to add a 8k-12k for a Gxx transaxle and
8k-12k for a basic motor.

This would get you just enough to be streetable.

Your at 60k-70k and have a car less dailyable than an Exige.

I know, I wasn't posting it as a suggestion here. I just like it because it has so, so, so much potential. Everything I could ever want in a car.

I think a 997 is the best choice. Reliable, super mega awesome place to be inside, awesome to drive. Sure, doesn't make MAD POWER YO but for a "super spiffy daily driver" it fits the bill.

The reason I know the specifics, is because I have/am considering doing it.
I would build a striped version for the price I listed.
There is a blog somewhere where someone built one for less than 60k

Fae's criteria is nowhere near mine.
With what he wants in a car this isn't an option,
but could be at close to his budget if he lowered some criteria.
This IS the car he wants but not in the budget.

That ISF would be in the running for me with Fae's criteria.
Nearly a perfect car, but I don't think I could choose it over an M5.

Very cool but he needs a production car he can take the dealer when he messes it up.
