whats really going on?

Is she paying any rent, or is that all on your dime? If she's not paying anything, no worries on kicking her out. A quick stop at the management office should solve that one.
Another bit to consider: any other financial access she might have to *any* of your bank accounts, credit/debit cards, insurance, etc.
When you decide to act: plan first, then don't hesitate or give her time to retaliate. Things can get petty and ugly in a heartbeat...

Finish the turbo project, then between the two of you, at least the engine will be blown.
I was in a very similar situation once. That relationship was not meant to be. It's normal to still have feelings for her. It's normal to be sad about the end of the relationship. But, it's over, and the best thing is to end it and move forward.
Resist the urge to call her. Some relationships end in a way or due to circumstances such that they can be restarted ... this is not one of those situations.

If she is on the lease you can't just put her out if she won't leave. You could end up in court owing her money if you did. You could potenially have her evicted but that would take a while. IMO, at this point she is using you for her own purpose now...a place to stay, car, phone etc. I would ask her to move out so you can get a paying roommate. This **** about wanting her own stuff, give her here wish, take the phone car, food etc...put a lock on the damn frig and tell her to get here own food. You want to be own you own, figure it out yourself. Roommates don't support each other, they just share space. Oh, and start dating as soon as possible. The **** about asking her if she is cheating...she will lie anyway so don't even bother.

And as fireindc said, make sure to nut on her face ( the ex, not the hooker [but you can do that too])

Well, I've taken this upon myself to have a new beginning. I did some searching around today and found a nice townhome on the other side of town that I can afford on my own. I talked with my apartment complex and they will take me off the lease if she signs a paper releasing me. I talked with her tonight and since I'm having her stay here she'll sign the paper, whatever as long as I'm out. I also told her the car is coming with me. I should be moving within 45 days so that gives her plenty of time to get her **** in gear.
By the way, she is gone 24/7 now. She is hanging out with "people" all the time. While, I'm upset trying to comprehend this ****, she is out "at the movies" or "at a friends"...etc. Still sounds fishy to me.

After 7 years of knowing anybody that's fucked up to be treated like that. The good thing for you is that taking the steps you have taken pretty much guarantees a better future for you. Finish the turbo project!!! Nothing relieves stress more than getting into a project and nothing puts a smile on your face like squeezing the boost pedal.
