As I said before, Win8 sucked out of the box. But it's so quickly and easily modified into a Win7 copy that it's hardly worth whining about it.
Oh I'm sorry. I forgot that I'm supposed to modify a brand new system that is advertised to be more user friendly, to ACTUALLY be more user friendly, then put up with a bunch of other terrible "upgrades" and be happy with all of that in the name of science and technology.

Name 1 improvement that you noticed in win8 over win7. Do it. Something that you, on your complete own, have noticed dramatically improved.

Right, because all previous Windows releases have been 100% awesome with no issues or complaints or outright broken features that needed fixing right out of the box.

If they don't change this gay app crap by the next windows I too will be looking at Fapple for my next pc.

Seriously, If I'm gonna have to put up with ultra-gay features and system I might as well be a hipster

I still have a machine that runs Vista, i didn't notice a change on my win7 laptop but for drivers issues.

I dont understand win8; at all.

why force a silly un-friendly UI on your users to limit thier computing experience and preventing them from disabling the service?

Because MS is dumb and makes mistakes. That's not in debate here.

My only contention is that you guys are wasting time whining about it. Spend 10 minutes, fix the problem, move on with your lives.

Maybe I should consider bending over and taking it un-lubed repeatedly and being all happy about it like you?

I thought this boiled it down pretty well.

One of my many and varied responsibilities at my yob is dealing with software migrations and updates. After trying to use W8 on my own desktop for a week, I called Microsoft and added 50 Win7 Pro licences to our volume licence pool.

There is no way I'm going to make our users suffer through this Metro ****. I would need to add 3 interns to our helpdesk just to answer all the ragecalls from all the 40+ year old users who wouldn't be able to function with the new UI. ***** srs horrendous
