psyeah. i just got my first LCD monitor last month. up to then, i've been scrounging free triniton-tubed monitors from Craigslist (got a free 45lb 19" from a fellow SV owner earlier this summer)
main machine is a p-m 1.1 laptop - only 1gb of ram, 20gb hd. secondary machine is a p3 dell server w/ 768mb of ram and 4 x 9 scsi drives
however, i can pipe youporn onto a 72" projector screen. makes life more palatable...

I know the feeling. I did finally get a pair of 19" LCD monitors for my computer at work (there was a special from Fry's for $99 each, so I just bought 'em myself) but all my monitors at home are tubes. There's an old NEC Multisync 19" that's my main display and a pair of ancient 17" Dells that I swiped from the dumpster at work- those get moved around as needed. The only other machine I have with a "permanent" monitor is the media PC that drives the big CRT RP in the living room.

Done with modding all my DirectTivos. The HR20's are certainly nice from that standpoint.
I'm picking up a 42 inch LCD Friday for the living room. I'll probably upgrade the 110 inch 4805 projector in the basement with a 720p soon.
Damn you, technology!
