Because stupid people (including ALL pols) think that AR stands for "assault Rifle".

Those idiots included the Barrett M107 on that list, but neglected to mention the M82A1.

Only had a 10 round magazine.

I've got it! We'll take the current design of an AR lower and change something about it.... Remove the detent pins from the two breakdown pins so they're no longer captive, then we'll include some of those large head "quick release" ball bearing lock pins in place of the captive units. After that design change, our lower receivers will all be labeled MT AL-R/1 which stands for "MiataTurbo Anti Liberal Retard, version 1." By some odd and very strange coincidence all the standard AR15 hardware works in our units... Fire controls, uppers, magazines, pistola grips, etc.

That bitch must really be super deep in her own diluted prune juice loaded ******* to really believe there is a difference between a .22lr AR and a .22 Ruger and how they "perform" in firing a round.

I have been taking a break from politics for a week and this crap gives me a massive headache.

I don't think that bill comes even close to passing, but if it did, SKS's would get pretty popular.

Also noticed that it includes the Ruger Mini 14 but not the Ruger Mini 30.

Its actually quite funny how it shows her complete weapon ignorance and fear of "scary guns" with all the gaping holes in her bill and logic.

Yeah, somehow I managed to completely miss it. Oh well, that list is only the pipe dream of the brain dead zombie.

These images in TIME magazine are hilarious. First..

LOL, I guarantee i can pop off more than 45 rounds per minute with my AR, **** probably closer to 200 rounds per min. Oh and nice silhouette of an "AR", rofl.

And the best one..

600 round magazines for 25 bucks, ORLY?

******* morons.

A 600-round magazine for an AR-15 for $25.95 is called "an overpriced 50-cal ammo can"

I'd like to see someone make a realistic attempt at wielding something as ridiculous as a 600-round magazine.

I'd also like to suggest that their RPM count is way off - I could probably fire 90 RPM of reasonably well-aimed fire at 100 meters, and far quicker at distances normally encountered indoors - this includes cargo-pocket mag changes... but I'd still like to see what a 600 round magazine looks like - the cartridge weight alone would be 15.5 lbs - I'd like to see the spring capable of accelerating 15.5 lbs (about .5 slug of mass) fast enough to operate an AR-15 reliably while actually allowing a human to load the rounds by hand.

Does that surprise you? Look at who they made "Person of the year 2012" FFS.

Can't recall if it was posted here or not and I'm too lazy to look, so I'll just post again: Chicago Tribune confuses rifle sling loop with grenade launcher | The Daily Caller

Thats the kind of garbage I expect from Liberals when reporting the news, honestly. Do this; Open a new tab, type "google.com" in the address bar. In the google box type "AR-15 parts diagram" and click on the VERY FIRST PICTURE you see. Oh, look... A labeled diagram of an AR-15 rifle.

“A bayonet mount allows a daggerlike blade to be attached to the end of the rifle. It doesn’t change the function of the rifle, but can add an intimidating presence and allows the weapon to be used as a spear. A grenade launcher can also be attached, though possession of grenades has been banned by the federal government for decades.”
Christ, are you ******* kidding me??

Have you seen the prices on the private market? Used parts are selling for double a new part cost. I ordered from reputable dealers whose prices are the same as they were before the madness. Now its just a waiting game and trying to decide what one I actually want.

L.O.L.

I also love how they point out the grenade launcher specifically, then clarify that Grenades have been "banned for some time." Great scare tactic.
