Complete flattop upper for $372.99 @ Midway.
Tested out my new build over the weekend. I approve..
I used to work for a POS company a few years ago doing point of sale service and repair. ------ hated that job, ------ hated POS systems. Made a lot of great friends working for that company and we decided to have a little shootout... Just so happens that one of those POS terminals fell off the back of a truck in the middle of a corn field.... a 2000 acre corn field in north central Kansas.
Looked like this before:
After a little tuneup:
Then we tried to blow it up.
My facial expression basically tells the tale. I was not impressed. Biggest waste of $7 ever. We decided this was only a test run and next time we'll make our own damn "reactive targets."
Sometimes the redneck in me really shines:

I want to buy now... before the "O's gonna take our guns" paranoia sets in and the price of everything doubles overnight. I've already noticed that just about every gun I've been looking at over the past 6 months is currently 10%-15% more than it was back in Oct/Nov. You can attribute a little of that to standard "post-holidays" short supply... or that there's about to be a huge rush on guns. Ammo in popular calibers is about to go through the roof... stock up on your Federal bulk 9mm and .223 now.
I got an email from Buds today...
This notice is being sent to all customers who recently placed an order with www.budsgunshop.com and may not necessarily apply to your order.
If you are not already aware of what is going on in the firearms industry, there is no doubt you soon will be via the media. Our sales in the month of February were over FIVE TIMES what they were back in February 2009 following the last presidential election...and you may recall those were some pretty crazy times ! We did plan for 2012 to be another challenging election year....but we admittedly did not plan for this level of volume, and definitely not this early in the year !
Although your order may not have experienced a delay, we would like to apologize to anyone who has, or is currently, experiencing a delay in shipping. Our order volume unexpectedly skyrocketed in February, far beyond our capacity to process and ship. We immediately began the process of expanding our facilities, adding additional staff, and working extended hours...but those efforts are just now starting to pay off.
The good news is that we are starting to get back on top of things. We are currently shipping out more orders each day that what we are taking in, so it is now just a matter of clearing the backlog that was created in February. Since Monday we have been able to ship out 300 more guns than what we sold during that same time....so the backlog should be cleared shortly at this rate. We are shipping oldest orders first (first in - first out) so clearing this backlog will cause some newer orders to ship closer to the "7" in our advertised "3 to 7 business days" terms. Many repeat customers were so use to us shipping in 3 days they started to get concerned when their order had not shipped in 5 days...even though we were well within our "3 to 7 business days" terms. Also, "business days" refers to Monday-Friday only, as neither UPS or USPS pick up packages at our warehouse on weekends.
We sincerely apologize if you experienced a delay and assure you we are continuing to do everything we possibly can to prevent future delays. We have also suspended all cancellation fees for any delayed orders. If you order has been delayed, and you prefer to cancel your order at this time....we will be glad to accommodate that request with absolutely no fees....we need more guns anyway !
We appreciate the business and commit to do a better job next time if given the opportunity.
Kind Regards,
Team Buds

This is a subject I have a lot of passion about and I just don't understand what these idiots (dems) don't understand about it. Allow me to elaborate my point:
Thanks to William J Clinton the "Federal Assault Weapons Ban" was signed in the house on September 13th 1994. This banned "evil weapons" that citizens shouldn't be allowed to own, including rifles with pistol grips, alleged "high capacity" (Uhm, actually they're all STANDARD CAPACITY... the 9mm Glock was designed to have a 15+ round standard capacity magazine.) magazines, and basically anything fun.
Fast Forward to February 28th, 1997 when two men, Larry Pillips Jr and Emil Mătăsăreanu walked into a Bank of America in North Hollywood California armed with a Romanian AK47, Norinco Type 56 (both were full-auto, illegally converted), an HK91, and illegally modified XM15 bushmaster rifles. They proceeded to bang it out with the police outside the bank with their illegally modified automatic weapons and "high capacity magazines"
They basically violated 3 federal laws:
1934 NFA
1994 AWB
18 USCS § 2113
You could even argue they violated the Firearm Owners Protection Act of 1986.
Tell me, please, what good were those laws?
See that little sign on the side of the road?
That stops people from speeding, right?
Coke is illegal, right?
Do you understand what I'm getting at? Banning, regulating, or controlling guns is only going to take them out of the hands of honest law abiding citizens. Criminals don't give two flying mother ***** about laws and they're going to do whatever they want. Why liberals can't understand that is what makes me despise them so greatly! There is an alleged "gun guy" at work who's a loony lib by his own admission, yet he thinks our gun laws are too relaxed because I can buy a gun in a private sale. He also believes that you can flip an extra Fifty to a dealer at gun shows and buy brand new guns with no 4473. How naive this kid is to what the REAL WORLD is completely ASTOUNDS ME!

Any firearms legislation is likely to on the back burner until the economy recovers.
All else being equal, later in a second term is when I would expect more movement on that from Obama (since he won't be up for re-election). Some of that will depend on whether Holder is still around.
Personally, I think it would be dishonest but brilliant marketing if Bud's was experiencing no such shortage or supply issues but was sending emails like that out to drive the sort of reaction Sam is having.
I haven't bought ammo since 9mm Blazer aluminum was like $5/50 from Natchez.

I'm a fairly level-headed guy, like Tommy said: "A person is smart. People are dumb, panicky, dangerous animals and you know it.
I've finally got the wife on board with allowing guns in the house. She doesn't know I've bought 5 in the past 6 months. I think all she knows about it 1 shotgun and 1 pistol. She is absolutely going to ---- a brick when she finally sees an AR come out of it's case. I can handle her though... it's the thought of people ponying up $300 for a PC lower come next October that has me worried about being able to afford to buy what I want.
I've still got a Sub2k, small and large frame revolvers, a full-size .9mm and .40 semi-auto, another AR, and probably a medium caliber bolt-action rifle to add. I kinda like prices the way they are RIGHT NOW... but another 15%-20% increase and I'm not going to have to rethink things, or not get what I want.
As for legislation, you're right. Firearms is a huge industry with the most powerful lobby in Washington. I enjoy reading about states legalizing open carry, or in the current case of South Dakota, eliminating CCW's altogether. "Constitutional Carry" as decided by Heller won't ever happen in California, but I think SD will bring the total to 5 states that do not require a licence to carry. StandYourGround and CastleDoctrine are coming on strong in states without them.
I read Calguns a lot, and the atmosphere there is positive that the state is moving in the right direction. Technically, Cali is a "shall issue" state, but like a lot of the north-east states, the state government passes the buck on issuing down to individual county sheriff's, who never have any *****.
There's a good chance I may be moving to Rhode Island sometime in the next 12 months to attend Naval War College at Newport. RI firearms laws aren't too bad... no AWB or hi-cap crap... but their CCW/SYG/CastleDoctrine needs some serious work. NO vehicle carry without CCW, which is a bummer.

7-day mandatory waiting period sucks!!!
But I got this goin' for me!
(g) Any person who is serving in the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps or Coast Guard on active duty shall not be required to obtain a basic pistol/revolver safety certificate or basic pistol/revolver permit under this section so long as he or she remains on active duty.

I gots another question. Since the lower receiver counts as the actual gun (I think), if legislation where to pass banning assault weapons and I already had a lower or two, would I be able to buy the other necessary parts to complete the gun, or would some legal stuff stand in my way?
Thanks

I wouldn't be worried about forced weapons forfeiture or FEMA death camps but maybe Hustler has some input.

You need to take her to the range and hand her a .22 pistol. Tell her if she can hit the target you will do the dishes for a month. OR better yet find a female friend of hers that is into guns. Have her take the wife to the range (most women do not want to be at a range with a man - they are wired completely different than what we are and it all comes out wrong when we have a gun in our hands). Our local indoor shooting range has a ladies night. They probably screw it up too but she will take instruction and criticism better from someone else than she will from you. The object is to get her shooting from time to time. Then she will be more apt to go along with gun purchases.
