Every paycheck since I started working has been spent at least 3 months in advance. I knew a friend who got a $3000 windfall and had to decide for about 2 weeks what to spend it on. I got a $3000 windfall this past spring and it was gone in 10 days. 
If you gave me another $3k, it would be gone in a week.
