So it was a good day at the dyno. I ended up making the most power at about 240hp, unfortunately my car was shooting flames out that back which was causing us not to go to redline. On the street I am not having the problem. So I need to figure that out. I am definitely upset that I could not hit 300hp. Hopefully soon I can afford to actually go dyno tuned and figure hit the power numbers I want.

It was fun and definitely a great day for a ride. Still unhappy I don't have my Miata yet...
But it was great meeting all of you and to see that turbo Miatas are alive and well. It's also incredible to see that no two engine setups are even remotely close to identical! I wish I'd seen more Miata runs, but I can't wait for spring when I can Dyno my own!
Anyway- here's some random pictures from my phone:

Did you happen to get a print off of my runs? I totally forgot to ask him for them. Maybe I will call up tomorrow and ask if he could fax them to me or something.

He was definitely changing something trying to get rpms right. They should have been close because he had them right in the spring with his original settings. Ed also kept trying to run in 4th and I had to keep telling him to run in 5th.

I'm kind of wondering if something was going on, as I was a good bit down on power from the spring (98 peak vs 105) without significant changes to the car. The plot was much smoother this time after messing with the AE settings and the powerband looked the same but was shifted down everywhere.
Soviet, what were you putting down in the spring? I was peaking at 105 in the spring with an exhaust, crappy tune, and a ghetto shopvac hose intake. Did anyone else see some odd variations between previous runs and yesterday? I figured with as cool as it was yesterday if anything things would be skewing higher.

But when Lars' car was running under low load and not boosting the wideband read 14.7 constant as it should in closed loop (assuming Lars' car goes CL). So under non-rich conditions it seemed OK.

Soooo why does this guy have to enter anything for gear ratio? This is what makes this type of dyno 'better' than a dynojet?
Do you get your $50 back if the dyno operator fails?
Nice to see some of you guys again. I got to see part of an old turbo porsche's dyno run.
