That's not any sort of special technique, it's just a cheetah (well, two). Just about every tire shop in America has them. Ever tried to install tires on a Chevy Blazer's wheels? For whatever reason, I forget what size tire it was, but the beads would get very close together in storage, and the wheels were relatively wide. Most of the time you could get away with a good coat of lube and the air jets built into the machine. Other times, you had to get out the big guns.

mrtonyg - looks like it was just taking forever for the bead to seat, since there wasn't any lube. It'll take awhile but it'll eventually pop out.

They actually said they didn't have any lube? So they are attempting to mount a tire on a wheel that is not designed for it and they don't have any lubricant? Wow.

Alright nice try then!

Just hoping someone knew what they were saying. Something made them stop putting air in the tire.

Lighter fluid is faster and easier.

Mounting skinny tyres on wide rims makes baby Jesus cry.

If Smart cars are my number one rant, tire stretching is my second. That **** is so ******* retarded. Sure does look dope though! I got into an argument with some retards on some RX7 forums once about their tire stretching and by the end of the 15 page long thread I was ready to get in my car and drive half way across the country.

That pompadour is sweet though.

I would challenge anyone here to actually tell anyone with a Boso style car in japan that they are a ------. I promise you'll get wrecked.

They see it just as much style related as having a rat rod car (because having a mason jar that has cobwebs in it as a overflow res. means you are legit) with white wall tires. In case you couldn't figure that out from the Pompadour, but hey... Rock-a-billies they don't have anything similar...oh wai...

All that tire-stretching bs is just a pissing contest to see who can reach the ultime goal of a 195 on a 12" rim.....

Cause they figured out the rim was way to wide for that tire. I knew what was gonna happen before they even started.
