Don't you mean Tungsten 6ULs on Titanium MSMs?

Derp. This is why I need to drink coffee before drooling. Carry on!

They both look great but I'm pretty sure Philly's set is Nickel. Either way you can't go wrong.

Wrong forum name hahaha

The 15x9 are nickel. The new 15x10 are tungsten. Saturday is probably the day for the wheels and hood cutting. Wheels came in yesterday and judging them alone without the nickel ones here to compare, id say they are a LITTLE darker but look great, more of a black chrome look, where the nickel was a bit more shiny I think. When I was deciding if Tungsten would be too dark for my Ti MSM, I think Emilio or Andrew said that most people wouldn't be able to tell the nickel and tungsten apart and whoever said it was pretty right, there is not a huge difference

So even with the slight fender pull, the 10s appear to have some poke. I've not picked up the car yet so I don't know how it is in person

15x10 UL 245/40-15 Maxxis RC-1 NB rolled and pulled fenders ride height 4.5" pinch to ground in rear

My friend also cut my hood and installed these NC louvres which I really like a lot more than the NB version

Cut bracing.

Unsure of if I like the Wheel poke or not yet.

Looks properly mean. what kind of camber numbers are you at?

-2.5 front
-2 rear

Not much left to work with then. In photos the poke doesn't look bad. Is it rubbing over bumps?

hraday93 03-06-2016 04:41 PM

BEAUTIFUL ride. This is my new favorite street build. You really did a bang up job on this.

Wow. They definitely look like they'll be rubbing like crazy. Hopefully that's not the case.

Those NC louvers looks awesome. Got me thinking now, even though I already have the NB louvers ready to go on.....

They rub plastic in the front but the rear is good. It's not as bad in person as in the photo, actually looks mean as F&$K, just right.

You wouldn't be the first person who's seen the shot and wanted to go with NC vents. I just think they really flow well with the NB, more than the very straight edge NB louvres. Maybe Singular will come up with a "prettier" design one day, but I'm sure they all work. My local buddy shawn is contemplating selling his NB set as of yesterday lol

Honestly I was thinking of going full-on S2000 guy and cutting a gigantic opening over the turbo and manifold.

That MSM turbo setup and all the heat it produced is what did me in to begin with. I despise Miata engine temps with a passion hahaha

Hey, get creative, but depending on where you place your holes, you may see no heat exiting at speed if there is pressure or downforce over the area. Also, my louvres are for extracting heat from the radiator, not the turbo. It just so happens that my turbo setup puts my snail close to my one vent, but just barely. These come with a vinyl stencil and have very specific placement.

Here's a look trying to get as best a view as I can. Yes, radiator fan is massive, and I might actually gain some airflow by moving to a smaller fan but I'll see how my temps are on the track as is. You can see the BOV that's built onto the EFR turbo in the bottom right corner, and the compressor housing ends up meeting the center housing right where the louvre ends.

https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1457619317

Also as a side effect, the turbo is a lot louder, I mean a LOT. Sounds of boost are glorious, but I was kind of getting on it last night next to a concrete wall, and when I let off the pedal, the BOV and it's deflection against the wall scared the piss out of me. I can also hear my valvetrain/pistons a bit more when the car is still cold, and can hear when it quiets down (warms up).

That's pretty ingenious to keep the cooling focused at the parts that were designed to do so. My reasoning for the turbo was yo hopefully make the radiator and intercooler not have to be as needed, but all options are worth exploring. And yea, I thought of the air pockets that might move over the holes and humored the idea of cutting air passages into the front bumper.

My intention is still to have vents and/or louvres to have useful heat extraction and downforce placed on the car. My ultimate goal aside from the power is to have people help me use air to my advantage, both for cooling and for grip.

Found some light rubbing on something non-plastic in the rear, since I'm already rolled and lightly pulled it's not cutting the tire, but I did see a long scuff. Depending on what it's rubbing on (fender lip or inside of wheel well), the only options I may have are to pull a little more or add a little more camber. I'll try upping the damping a bit more, currently on 12f and 10r clicks on the XIDAs. The rub really happens when I take turns that have dips in them. I've got more testing to do, but these guys definitely fit tight haha. Camber currently at -2.5f and -2r.

hraday93 03-12-2016 03:41 PM

Think you'll eventually have to do any cutting? Emilio was suggesting that early on, but I'm becoming hopeful that won't be the case.

Probably not, unless I go to a larger tire. Emilio in his 15x10/15x11 thread said 15x10 on NB are sort of PnP ish and they sort of are. Fenders will need rolling but cutting may be avoidable. Depends how low you go.
