If your header starts to glow, your timing is way to low. You should be around 34 to 36 degrees. You will see some big gains. Believe me, I made the same errors when I tuned my motor.

You are on the motor, do not be that scared of timing. It is way more forgiving than forced induction motors. If anything, the low timing will start to damage your exhaust system.

Nice work, over building for your power goals, should always result in a win.

I can't wait to see what this sucker REALLY puts down when the rotrex is on there.
If you haven't gotten the rotrex yet (and I don't remember which one you said you'd get) I think you should run the biggest one they offer. at max boost. No reason not to. should be a beast

This was just a light break in tune. Done to be able to drive the car for some K's before putting the rotrex on. The timing is very low, I know. Also, that video was taken during the break in run. Just varying throttle for about 20 miles on the dyno. My tuner hadn't even really touched anything then, just monitored AFRs.

I almost hate driving it right now becuase I get to 4800RPM and the car starts pulling hard, then it hits the limiter at 5200RPM... lol

I have decided to run the C30-94. Oscar said with the lower compression motor the 94 will be needed to meet my goals.

I also was talking with my tuner (who is also a fab guy and crew chief for a Porsche daytona race team) about making me a custom header. He said I should run the car as is for the most part with the Rotrex for this year and next year maybe move to some meth injection along with an intake manifold and header.

I am dying to know what kind of power your motor will make with a decent tune and correct timing without the power adder. It gives credibility to those who are on the fence about cylinder head and cam work.

You know you can not live with yourself without knowing.

Yeah, I know but I can`t spend any more money on tuning right now. I may have him do a full NA tune when I go with the rotrex just for a baseline. Depends on how long he thinks it will take and how much extra it will cost.. It`s as easy as taking the pully off the Rotrex and just running the filter setup I have right now.

When it goes back to the dyno it will have a Maxim Works header, modified with a 2.5`` collector and 2.5`` all the way back. The cams are pretty aggressive by normal means but to Ocean they are not.. lol. He runs like 260+-* at .050 on his 13:1 NA motors.

Makes me wonder what some high compression pistons, IRTB`s and bigger cams would produce in this motor.

I missed this post.

Main reason was lack of funds. I don't imagine I should have any problems. We didn't do anything special with the crank other than a standard balance and clean/polish. I could have gone crazy but this all started as a bottom end only build and look what it progressed into.... lol I have a hard time not doing things because I don't want to go back later to fix or do something I wish I had. And my wallet hurts because of that.

Well the fun part is here. Just got back from Blaine, WA to pick up my Rotrex Race/DIY Kit courtesy of Emilio at 949Racing.

Agreed.

I'm amazed at how small it is for the c30-94.

Very nicely done. Inspiring, actually. Can't wait for the final results.

I like everything except the shitty hoses. I had those on my oil cooler system for a while, now I have SS for a reason. I really need to do the fuel lines.

Yeah I took a look at them and while they will do the job for this low pressure oil system, I may look into AN in the future. At the current moment there is no way I can spare any $ to do it. Perhaps over the winter.
