But seriously I think these little turbos are pretty good. as long as they're not choked up by stupid electronics or exhaust parts too much you get a bunch of torque, and decent gas mileage. in a daily driver that's pretty sweet.

if the next miata will have like 220-250hp and similar torque and not weigh more than 2500lb I think it will be a hoot

You described a GT2554 setup which I ran for nearly 10 years.

Yep. I think its an age thing: the older I get the less I care about swinging schlong on the street with a giant turbo and the more I'm happy with a broad powerband and snappy response. My next setup will be a EFR6258 or something equally responsive.

Not race car of course.

I wonder how these little ecoboost pea shooters would do on our BP's.

Ever driven an 88-92 MX6/626 GT with a stock turbo?

It'll feel a lot like that.

Put tiny turbo on car. Spend millions on marketing. Sell like hotcakes. Profit. Worry about overheating and poor economy complaints later.

I'm sure they're fantstic cars...if you never spool the turbo.

Love my combined 36mpg Mazda3 and 30mpg CX5. ;)

Glad I didn't hold out for a Ford.

Is there any other way? lol

Is it a 1.6l? I could have sworn the one we had in for an oil change was a 2l. In that case I give props because it actually had decent power, and that fusion must be over 3k lbs.

I think there is a 2L and a 1.6L.
