That is awesome. I was under the impression that those superchargers were fairly unreliable, is this true?

Unfortunately, yes. Here in Germany it is very popular to swap out g-chargers for Turbos because of reliability issues... So its a really unique and cool Project, just know that the g does not like hot shutdowns

All I know is that I owned one and I was going to put it on my NA saab 9k. Then everyone on the forum talked me out of it (sound familiar) and I just ended up getting a turbo Saab. It still fucked up. Damn my lead food.

I think, G superchargers are quite reliable untill you don't change the size of the pulley to increase its rotation speed.

I'm running the stock pulley currently.

Even it's less reliable, I not planning to make more than 10 000 miles/year

Update:

I got 10.5 psi at 4500rpm but my manifold air temp reach more than 210°F.
I'm planning now to install a intercooler before engine failure...

What would be a good air temp target?

ambient?

FWIW my setup is a coldside MP62 now. i.e. I don't have an intercooler.

When on track intake temps hit way over 150degC (302degF), but no damage has been caused to the engine (I know this as I've recently pulled the head). The key is in proper tuning and timing retardation based on IAT's.

So 210F is quite cold really :-P

If you're really worried add a simple WI setup, that's what I plan on doing (just need to hook my on/off switch up to the MegaSquirt).

ambient is 77°F.

I got a Megasquirt PnP and in the logs, IAT sensor can go above 213°F :(

Last pic of my setup: (new dump valve because the other one has melted down)

I maxed out the sensor on my setup, maxed at 215 F. It would get HOTT when hammering on it.

My point is I've gone way WAY higher than you whilst working the car very hard, so asking as your tuning is good you'll be fine.

Having an IC will certainly help your power output mind
