Default Hi from Pittsburgh

Hi. My name is Dave, and I reside in Pittsburgh, PA. I joined this forum because clearly it's the best I've looked through pertaining to turbo Miatas. I plan on purchasing a 94' or 95' as a secondary car and eventually adding a turbocharger. I've spent a good amount of time perusing these forums and decided it was time to join and say hello.

Now time to find someone local to see what ~250whp feels like.

I currently drive a G37S and it's okay.

Oh my girlfriend and I have two.

Welcome Dave! I lived in Pittsburgh from the 80s up until relocating to NC this past June. There are some Miata guys around but they mostly hang out on CR. I know of 2 pittsburgh area turbo Miata guys, wannafbody and thejeans who are also members here. Nice choice on the daily ride, My Wife drives a 6MT G35S and it's a great car.

Now that we've found love, what are we gonna do with it?

Thanks for the response! I'll try to get a hold of them come spring time since winter has finally set in. Thanks, it's still fairly new to me, but yeah it's a white coupe 6MT. You don't see many of these around here so it does stand out from all the Sububros. I'll have to post a few pictures soon. Your wife picked a good one!

You should venture up this way for a weekend. There's a lot to do depending on your interests. Your numbers are impressive btw.

Welcome! I've been out to Pittsburgh a few times and really like it. I'm in Lancaster myself.

A good bet for feeling 250whp is talking to thejeans once he's done his winter rebuild. He's got a nice FM2 that will give you a good idea of it.

Also, welcome!

I would greatly appreciate that. Yeah, I don't see many Miatas around especially boosted ones. I'm located in the south hills. What are your specs for your build and what machine shop are you doing business with? Also, I noticed you're a civil designer. What software do you use? I'm a mechanical and use Creo (ProEngineer).

Nice!! I live in the Robinson area. I use AutoCAD Civil3D and a small amount of ArcGIS.
basic specs for the car are Flyin Miata's FM2 kit (Hydra standalone, Garrett GT2560R, 750 Injectors, full 3" exhaust, and other goodies) on a 2004 Mazdaspeed Miata
I'm working on rebuilding the block this winter. I am not too sure what the machine shops name is off the top of my head, a really good friend of mine works at Moore Performance and hes got me lined up for the machine shop/guy they use for their builds to look over my block. But i will see him tonight so i can ask.
Alot of the specs of the block/internals will depend on how pretty/ugly the block is haha.
Then its just a matter of having Ken Hill at Oracle Tuning, tune the car. Ill gladly take you for a ride once its all finished. I'm shooting to have it all finished April/May

Sounds like you have a pretty good plan for your build and I will gladly take you up on the ride. I have a few friends with Subaru's, and they do business with Moore. Good luck with your build and I'll keep in touch.

Sounds good to me. Mad Mex is usually my place to go. My buddy Dan is a bartender.
